Electrical question

   / Electrical question #11
Can you put the driveway alarm receiver right in the panel or in the light's box and feed it from there (no extension cord needed). I have mine relayed to activate 2 revolving lights: red and blue. It's already paid off.

I thought of that. Red and blue lights should strike fear into a criminal.

I'm guessing you shouldn't be putting anything low voltage in a box with line voltage. Like you can't run line voltage and low voltage in the same conduit. For enclosures, there generally needs to be a partition and I guess it has to be listed for that purpose.

What alarm are you using? I'm using a Dakota MURS system. The output from the alarm receiver to the timer is 12V.
