Good morning!!!!

A beautiful day today, went to Ellen’s brother’s cookout. Visited with a lot of her family, good folks.
I’m still not walking like I want to be, still have weakness. But I guess I’m improving slowly. Looks like The storm is going to effect the Outer Banks pretty badly, we may get wind and rain.
Hope you guys have good rest of the holiday weekend.
Ron, hang in, one foot in front of the next. BEF, continue to get better.

Larro, good to hear from you, was thinking about you with the storm coming.

I understand the weakness in walking. I can stand, turn around, then im ready to sit. Still very weak in the legs.

Im like a toddler at that first able to stand phase, but no coordination to walk but a couple steps then go down. Except i dont want to go down, too old for that part.

Good morning all.

Yesterday I thought I would sharpen the topper blades that had been damaged by the kamikaze rock. Parked the skids of the topper on 4 jacks, got out the breaker bar and put on a 30 mm socket, then went to the tool cabinet to get out my 30 mm spanner (aka wrench) to keep the bolt head from spinning. It wasn't there, not too surprising as it is one of the most common sizes in agricultural use, with 30 mm nuts being used on every gate hinge. Thought I must have left it in the tool bag I carry around with my fencing tools. Nope, neither was it in any of the other places I searched for the rest of the morning. My wife gave me her usual (and generally effective) "think, where did you last have it" speech, but to no avail. :confused3:

After lunch it was time for desperate measures, if only to preserve what was left of my sanity. I was about to sort through the scrap pile to make a temporary spanner, then had second thoughts and went fishing instead :)

Drew, good to hear the equipment you won't be needing is selling so easily. Is there any machinery you wouldn't want to part with, when it comes time for the next move ?

The last place you think about looking for it, that's where it will be

The last place you think about looking for it, that's where it will be

or...why is it the socket size I need is always the one missing?

Is there any machinery you wouldn't want to part with, when it comes time for the next move ?

Eric, oh yes. My 1986 Gravely 8199G, an always faithful and productive machine. And livelier now that I upgraded
to a 23hp Vanguard twin. Hand clutch on the right, exactly like the John Deere B I grew up with.
Not an easy machine for one with bad arthritis but I'll never sell it. It goes in my will to a friend who has other Gravely machinery.
Like having a favorite dog that lives forever.
