I'm retired and enjoy most projects, except right now I'm putting in water and electric in a horse barn. I have a backhoe and the ditch is dug...but it's hilly and curves. I have hole drilled through concrete floor to run it through.
The headache for me is hand digging loose dirt out of ditch, then running especially wire. Curious what tasks others despise (or is it just an old age thing!).

I hate jobs that don't stay done and need to be repeated. I'd rather dig a ditch once than have to clean a bathroom over and over. In my climate exterior paint only lasts 4-5 years so I hate painting.

I have a water line to run about six feet deep, three hundred feet. It has to go under other utilities in six different places. So, a lot of hand digging. And if you don't get the job done quick, the trench falls in. Or God help there is a downpour!

But mostly, I hate greasing equipment!

We have about 300 feet of 7 ft arborvitae hedge that needs to be trimmed once a year. It is exhausting, working mostly with your arms over your head.

I stinkin’ Hate it.

I hate most any task that requires hard work that I can’t do with my equipment.

Oh, Working on my TAXES! As I "SHOULD" be doing right now. And next year, same thing, and again, and again!

I hate doing any job I don't have the right tool for. Or anything in tight spaces (like most things on cars). I don't mind manual labor, but I do hate working in the heat.

Me too. I'm dying in the heat and some woman in an air conditioned office always says " Oh, No, I love the heat" Well try working in it sometime! If you like the heat, I have a job for you running wires in an Attic in July. Hope you like fiberglass insulation (as well) with your heat!

Also, hate working on dirty greasy stuff you can't get at.

I'm also "naturally insulated" which doesn't help matters.

I had to do some of that last summer. We put in a couple hours in the morning and moved on to other work the rest of the day. After the heat builds up it’s just unbearable. Then the insulation sticking all over you really tops it off.

Let's see...Lube routes, changing freeze dryer door gaskets and condenser gaskets, any work on automated inspection machines, replacing and setting waste shredder knives, capper issues, pump-motor alignments, changing agitator shaft seals, safety and environmental inspections, working on HAPA printers.

And the itching started long before, just thinking about it, and lasts long after. Oh boy, oh joy! The last job I had to do like that, I had some General contractors helper do it. He was getting paid by the job but I gave him $50.00 because he looked so hot and uncomfortable when he finished and I was so relieved the job was done, but the General didn't like me giving him the money. I don't get people!

They’re not cheap but a cordless grease will make your greasing schedule a lot less miserable. One of my buddies bought one and I couldn’t believe he spent that much on a grease gun. Then I used it and now I have one.

I have one and sure, it's better. But I always run out, and then the fun (and mess) really begins.

Wow! I hate that also, getting ours ready for the CPA, as well as 92yo Mom's. Worst yet is then paying taxes. That kills me.

I couldn't think of anything that I really hate doing. I make the best of all tasks. It goes easier that way ;).....

That is, until someone mentioned fiberglass insulation. I had a job in high school working for a brick mason. Besides hauling around bricks on a hod or in tongs when he was laying bricks, which I enjoyed seeing how many I could carry, I had to do demolition on old, burnt out buildings that he'd buy, literally, at fire sales. Then he'd rehab them and rent them out. Scraping out old, burnt, fiberglass insulation from between the studs, shoveling it up, dumping in carts, carrying to windows and dumping down chutes... that stuff got everywhere. Even with a dust mask, it got in your nose, eyes, and throat. You'd be hacking that stuff up for hours. Oh the days of inadequate PPE. It got around your collar, the waistband of your pants, your socks...., just everywhere you'd be itching. I'd come home and take my clothes off in the garage before going inside. I'm sure the neighbors enjoyed that, as we had no door from the house to the garage, and I had to walk outside to get inside! Looked like this guy, only not as round back then.... And I'd stare at the neighbors just like that, too. hahahaha

Greasing my backhoe. Nasty, unfulfilling job that has to be repeated.
