Don't forget, where applicable, to set your clocks forward tonight. The Texas Senate is, once again, debating a bill to end DST in Texas. I just don't get who could be against this?

It's still dark when I get up and it stays light way too long when I'm ready to call it a day. Then there is the changing of all the clocks. . . I am against Daylight Saving's Time.

We had a covering of snow from yesterday, but it melted today. Still got some of last weeks snow in the shade.

Kyle,

Not much detail so guessing it was the 450 Honda. He has a loaner 450 Yamaha for the next 4 days.

He won both vintage races he entered today. One on a Bultaco, the other on the 250 Kawasaki.

Got 7th on the loaner Yamaha.

Good evening all. 61F for the start, mostly sunny, windy, .7 inch in rain gauge. Wind 20-35 most of day, mostly sunny sky, and high temp 75F. Cool off coming. Bike ride in the morning, did get blown around a bit, nap in afternoon.
Glad to hear bunny is back.
Would rather stay on DST, AZ has worked it out :confused2:
prayers for all.

Quite a mixed, productive day.
This morning got rest of framing/purlins on the roof. Lifted last 4 metal panel, secured but not screwed in place.

That was my last official use of the tractor. Sold the DX35 to my friend Keith for his recently acquired 11 acres. Included the flail mower.
I’ll replace the flail with shorter 155 vs 195 and back to my Kioti CK30

This is DX35 heading for new home.

Woke up to a covering of snow this morning. This isn't the light, fluffy stuff that makes children of all ages want to play out all day, it is sloppy wet, dense stuff that is at it's best when viewed through a pane of glass.

I looked her up and she used to be a writer for "Bewitched". So many of the neighbors have had fascinating careers and are from all over the US.

Not sure how old your neighbor is Don, but if she was writing for the early series, that was one of the programs I really liked as a kid, almost as funny as Mr Ed - plus Samantha was much better looking :)

26 and going to a high of 36°F. Wind E 23 gusting to 34 mph. Snow was supposed to start at midnight, none yet.

Eric; is it good packing snow or is it too wet for that? I have fond memories of snow forts and snowball fights.

There is not much to do today other than clear the path to the busted tree.

Have a good day all

5 clocks done, two to go...
good morning all
warmer weather has rolled in with some occasional showers today
Great pic David, the look of concentration is super, careful, careful, careful...

This half decaf coffee just doesn't seem to have much flavor. My Peet's decaf arrived yesterday from my friends
so while the last of the old stuff was brewing this morning, I was grinding beans. Usually that leaves a nice
smell in the kitchen. No smell. I mixed it with some dark Lavazza beans and hope next pot tastes better.

in between the showers today, I'll be planting beets. Then I'll go back to the potato field. When all the potatoes are planted then will go back and sprinkle nitrogen fertilizer on tops of rows. Potatoes love their fertilizer.

Hope you all have a quiet restful Sunday.

40 going to 70. Rain stopped after a hard one last night.

David, looks like a heavy tow for that Tacoma. Glad your roof is coming along well.

Used the rainy day yesterday to catch up at the gym and pick up a couple of things in town. Came home to about 25 turkeys in our field...seeing even one is pretty rare. Hope they stick around.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 38° with light rain and wind. Heading to 42° with clouds and wind. We have already had high for today. Low at end of daylight will be 35. Yesterday's energy conservation has paid off. Sore throat is gone. Still have a cough. More conservation today. May watch some NASCAR.

Aunt is doing better. But going to take awhile to get back to normal.

It's toss up with me on DST. Whatever they do, stop the changing of clocks. :smiley_aafz:

David, nice pictures.

Drew, did you get pictures of the potato planters?

Prayers for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Drew, did you get pictures of the potato planters?
no, and my bad, should always do so for food pantry, they like to post the pics of volunteers. Instead of supervising,
I wound up working the whole time and simply forgot. Had not had time to make a furrow, so instead we pressed the potatoes in as far as they would go in the hill, then I had to rake soil up on top of them. Best way is to make a bigger hill, then a furrow, then blade the top smooth, covering the potatoes. Instead I did it the old fashioned manual way, which is why this is kinda hard on my arms.

Looks like rain is coming in, going to go out for breakfast and start the day slowly.

No plans...just hang out and clear the snow later.

49 now, supposed to be nearing freezing by sunset. Heavy rain overnight. Sun is shining now. Got most of the clocks changed.

2nd cup of coffee is tasting good this morning.

Got about 1/2 the roof of my new to me cargo trailer insulated yesterday. Exactly 1 set of roof bows were parallel. Every other one was tapered. Maybe I will build the frame for the roof vent today.

Or find something else to get into.

Everyone have a safe and good day.

I think you put it perfectly, Ron: Quit messing with the time!

<RANT>Every spring and every fall, things around here go nuts for a few days until the time change settles in. The computers don't like it, the home control software doesn't like it, and I don't like going around trying to remember how to change the time on the car and motorcycle clocks. Then there's always the odd feeling of looking at a wall clock and wondering if it's correct or not, as most, but not all, of them have radio receivers in them that are supposed to update automatically, but some do it at midnight, others at the official hour. The midnight ones take an extra day to adjust.:confused2:</RANT>

Sorry 'bout that. I feel better now...

Good Morning!!!! Hmf. 43F @ 5:30AM. Cloudy skies this morning will become partly cloudy this afternoon. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High 58F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Hope you got all your taters in, Drew. And that the volunteers come back often during the growing season to weed, and eventually to help harvest!

I'm very suspicious of a ten day weather forecast with only a single day where the chance of rain is 10% and all the rest 0%. Like someone turned the faucet off. The temps are even going to start climbing, reaching into the 60s by next weekend. It's about time!

No, today's about time, see previous rant.

If the driveway is still dry after breakfast, I'll make a start at removing the drive shaft and output housing from the van and seeing if I can get at the leaking seal. To keep as much transmission fluid as possible inside when the housing comes off, the shop manual sez to lift the front end as high as possible. That should be interesting...

Hopefully that goes well and I'll have some time to cut some wood, this time starting in on the downed trees.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

27F now low 30's for high, snow falling steady along with the winds gusting...2-4 inch with touch of rain later tonight.

Yesterday afternoon was good weather day temps reach 40F late afternoon and the eves started to drip. :)
Hour before dark sat just inside shed door enjoying cigar waiting for the deer, took while but they felt comfortable passing by every now and than I got the look couple blows...interesting to watch.
Both kittens like the time change were up earlier which means breakfast for them. :)
Plans for today... sweep basement floor, watch little nascar, maybe little snow removal...plans subject to change.

Enjoy the day all.

Prayers for all Ron glad your aunt is better more prayers sent

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

21ºF was today's low, 22ºF now and still snowing. It looks like 2" of snow has fallen. It should start changing over to sleet soon then rain later. The wood stove feels real good right now.

The 3 mini-split heads kept the house at 65コF, tap water flowing, and the baseboard plumbing seems to be cycling. Hopefully tomorrow I will find out just how well the baseboard plumbing is protected from freeze up. I believe that I have 10G's of antifreeze for a 20G system.

DST/EST does not affect me more than having to change a clock or two. I run on my own "cosmically driven" time.

I never found a decaf coffee bean that I liked. I do not like the chemically treated decaf; the water treated decaf is not much better.

I saw an air fryer in action last night at our friends' dinner party. The brussel sprouts convinced wifey and I that we do need an air fryer. Our friends are great cooks and had a brand new completely renovated kitchen to show off. Impressive granite counters and island and fancy new cabinetry and appliances. They work hard. They deserve it. We had a great time.

I hope that everyone is having a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

The low this morning is 16°. It was sunny most of yesterday with a high in the the mid 20's. Today will be overcast with a chance of some snow showers and a high in the low 30's.

I got the snow moved in the driveway yesterday. It took a little longer then normal because of the drifting and how much we got. I did manage to get the 4 wheeler stuck in a drift on the way to the garage to get the tractor. It only took a few minutes to get it out.

The neighbor came over and we went for ride in his side by side. The road was blown in with a 6 feet drift about 30 yds long. I had my doubts about him trying to go over it but he didn't have any problems at all. I'm still impressed with what it will do.

Don't really have any plans for today.

Hope everyone has wonderful Sunday.
CWB.
