David/Sodamo, fun to watch your project come along. Looks great.
I keep looking at those metal roofs you are putting on
and all I can think of is what happens in high winds? Will they stay on?
seems that wind would get under them and rip things apart, like Buckeye's barn.
Short of hurricanes, do you get a lot of wind there?
Does the open nature help the wind go through without issue?

Hi everyone:
Looks like 8 to start with a high of 42ish. Haven't had that here in a while, Should be a welcome feeling before tommorrow's snow and freezing rain. I have a faucet and sink repair at the apartment house today. Shut off doesn't and faucet squeaks and drips. Oh well, I have all the tools to repair or replace the pipes if needed.
Prayers for all in need!

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 14° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 38° with mostly cloudy skies. Rain starts late in the day. OT, Sam Club and Costco visits went well yesterday. Nice day to be out. My sore throat has gotten worse. Going to be a conserve energy day.

My aunt is still about the same. Tried to talk to her yesterday. Totally confused. Could not understand what she was saying. Thanks for the prayers.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

-10°F and going to a high of 36. Wind WNW 11 mph. Sunny!
We will pay for the two days of sunny weather. Snow starting tonight at midnight and ongoing until Monday afternoon.

We will get the rest of the loose wood in today and then I can start the long slow process of clearing a 12' wide lane to the downed tree. I also need to clear out in front of the shelter the Jeep and backho are in. That wont take long.

A trip to town today to get some bar oil. The saw came with the extra battery ( the vendor charged that on up for me) and the one that came with the saw had 30% charge, so I charged it up with the better charger in a half an hour. Put it on charge at 7:20 P.M. (cheap rates start at 7 P.M.) and it was all charged up and the charger automatically shut down at 7:50 P.M.

The stray cat managed to last all winter. He was at the window this morning mooching for food and milk. I found out I am not the only one feeding him. The neighbours feed him, too. I will NOT bring him in and get him 'fixed'. We already have a tom here. He might be an 'it', but he is still a tomcat and one tomcat is enough in a colony.

Have a good day all

Don are you trying to replace Drew with the busiest schedule.

Nope, I'm retired. In fact yesterday I did nothing, except place 3K lbs. of stone and sand around the yard. While I was out in the yard the neighbor came over and was telling me about her editing a book. I looked her up and she used to be a writer for "Bewitched". So many of the neighbors have had fascinating careers and are from all over the US.

I'm trying to get caught up on house projects so I can clear my schedule for wood working classes in April and of course working with that winning tractor.

A warm morning at 69˚F with a chance of rain. I need to check to see If my potatoes have pushed up and we need to straighten up the garden's tractor shed after the exterminator drilled the slab.

We have approximately 40 signs to install on the trails to finish them up before the ribbon cutting. The last time they opened new trails was about 2 years ago and 200 people showed up. This time there might be more because at the same time the new Amenity center, which is at the trailhead will also have their grand opening. The trail blazers got so much done while I was playing on the beach, but hey, I'm retired.

Weather started off wet and blustery this morning, so it was full waterproofs on to feed the sheep. The plastic sack I was using to carry the feed must have been nibbled by mice overnight, so when I returned there was a long trail of wet mushy sheep nuts across the length of the concrete yard to clear up :confused3:

After that I had an excuse to temporarily neglect my wife and get re-acquainted with the Iseki. A friend who keeps horses came with a trailer for hay as they were almost out of feed. Then I took two more big bales to a farm across the road who had run out completely.

Now I'm back having a late but very welcome cup of tea. Fortunately the grandkids are arriving later than usual today, so I may even have a couple more minutes to catch up on a little more tbn before I help Julie get showered and dressed (which isn't exactly a chore ;)) .

Thanks for the info David, I will have a good look at that later.

34 and foggy, going to 42. Had some snow yesterday morning and then in the evening with rain...nothing stuck.

Ron and BEF - prayers for your aunts.

Bird, sorry you lost your bunny friend. Ours seem to come and go, but it always fun to see the young ones growing up.

Randy, great story about getting to listen to Buddy and Carlos - great music. ...and Happy Anniversary!

Rick, I now have that Bee Gees tune stuck in my head.

L4N, I need to "download" you firewood app.

CWB, hope the jury duty is interesting, if you have to go.

Spring is near...found some salamander and frog egg clusters in the creek's side channel yesterday. A few forsythia blooms have popped open to test the weather, and the daffodils have already declared meteorological spring.

Yesterday the forecast was a low of 26, so was hoping the ground would be frozen at first light so I could use the tractor to bring my firewood rounds up the hill to the splitter. Nope, never got below 32, and the ground was softer than I wanted. So will wait for another freeze, or dry weather, whichever comes first.

Yesterday visited another assisted living community for my wife's parents. We went to Costco after the visit and I realized that the best pizza place I now know of is Costco. I'd say that is sad, but it is really good and $1.99 for a huge slice (760 calories, though), and the other places I've gone seem to have gone down hill. Still searching.

Today may be my last woodburning day for the season. Not sure I'm bringing any more onto the porch, and supply is very low. RNG, I've been placing my wood pallets up on cinder blocks, old treated 6x6 pieces or other "scrap" foundations to keep them off the ground. I have a couple of plastic pallets, but the carry all doesn't fit in their "slots" so use them to store implements.

16F clear mid 30's for high.
March lion will do some roaring tomorrow,2-4 inches snow mix with rain towards the end along with gusty winds. :(

Somehow plastic pail from the shed was near deer feeder :confused3: so I left it there to see what would happen,11 deer show up about dusk to feed and 3 young deer decided to kick the pail around  old deer didn't like that one bit.
Plans for today... dump run, stop two places for critter food,Mrs. to super market, check game cam, fuel for pickup and hook up plow to pick than take day as it comes.
Time for E muffin and raze the kittens. :)

Enjoy the day all.

20 now, supposed to be 51 or so later. Rain tonight. May see 60 this week.

I don稚 have to go to AZ on short notice. Common sense won. Well....obstinacy was a big factor too.

I had decided not to go to Bike Week races in GA and FL so I could stay home and get some stuff done. Woke up to a text that he trashed the engine first night....not good way to start the season.

Not sure what I will get into today for sure, lots to do......

Everyone have a safe and good weekend.

Good Morning!!!! 42F @ 5:00AM. Considerable cloudiness with occasional rain showers. High 51F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

Sorry to hear about the engine, Rich, but that's racing, isn't it? Sounds like your timing was good stayin' home...

I had the too much wood problem, too, when I first got to this place, Buppies. Put an ad in Craig's List inviting folks to come get what they wanted, and someone wrote back that I shouldn't let people do that because if they got hurt, I'd have to pay their bills since it happened on my property. Fortunately, only one person wanted to come over, and he brought his wife with him. We really hit it off and had a nice friendship for several years until they lost their home in the Camp Fire and moved to Eugene, OR. He'll have more wood than he knows what to do with up there!

Speaking of wood, I almost got the last of the big pile bucked and stacked yesterday, but it wasn't easy. What I thought was a new chain was one I'd already sharpened, and for some reason, they don't hold an edge like the new ones. Probably because the electric sharpener takes some of the temper out of the teeth. Anyway, it was doing OK until I hit a fist sized rock that a limb had grown around. Never seen that before.:confused2: Now I guess I'll have to go out and find carbide saw chains! Put a new chain on and the tank went dry half way through the last piece. It was time to quit anyway, sky was darkening and I was wantin' dinner.

Anyone know about 3D printing?

I have a small part to print, and the website that prints asks for two variable to be selected. It will be an exhaust adapter for a new coffee roaster...ABS plastic using FDM process. The website asks for:
- % Infill, from 20% to 100%, and
- Layer Height, from 100 um to 300 um.

Not sure what these mean, exactly.

62 degrees this morning, going for a high of 74. I awoke at 5 a.m. to a loud and bright thunder and lightning show with rain. The NWS says the Denton Airport, 10 miles from here, got 1.16" of rain and had 18 mph wind gusting to 46 mph. And all that happened in not much over an hour. We do have puddles everywhere, but my rain gauge only had about .60" of rain in it. I don't see any sign of wind damage anywhere. And now clear skies already.

The low this is morning is 10°. It started snowing about the time I posted yesterday. It snowed all day and over night and still at it this morning. We didn't get a hole lot 14+ inches it looks like. And the wind wasn't to bad but we did get some drifting. They are calling for mostly cloudy skies and some snow showers today. With a high in the upper 20's and a light wind.

It's still snowing pretty good now. Hopefully it will let up here and I can get out and work on the driveway some time today. They are showing more snow for tomorrow and Monday so I need to get the driveway done if I can.

Hope everyone has a enjoyable weekend.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Low of 26, going up to 55, a bit cooler than previous days. Of course it will be windy again today! Not like the gale force winds yesterday, but still gusts to 45.

I have ALL of the neighbors topsoil on my property, actually I think it covered all of the land from here to the Texas state line! Dust bowl conditions.

Going to see the ex-DIL and her new baby today. She has remained close to us and considers us her "family". She has really gotten her act together and we are really glad for her.

Couple of quick errands while we're out, then just piddle around the house this afternoon.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent.

because if they got hurt, I'd have to pay their bills since it happened on my property.
Sadly that's true but your homeowners will cover it fully if it ever happens. And also why I have every hourly cash employee sign
a hold harmless agreement saying I'm not responsible if they get hurt here. The proverbial condition of employment.

Does shivering count for exercise? ;) I started at 5am cutting up potatoes, and then worked outside for the last three hours getting the potato field ready for the 1pm potato planting party today. Less rain last night than predicted, thankfully, ground is pretty damp but still workable. Plus this field is on a nice slant, which is very unusual for this flat area. First I ran the little Massey one more time with the hiller, than ran the pull behind tiller, now all fixed, to level and fluff the very top of the row. Got the taters put out, except for last 50 pound bag to do, but at least I'm sitting in a warm shed for that. Heat wrap for my neck, heater on my legs and hot coffee going in, ahhhhh. Just don't do well with the cold anymore, and yeah it's only 45 here, downright balmy for some of you.
