A bit of progress in between cloud bursts.

Gosh David, that ariel shot shows an awful lot of new concrete! And just when you were all caught up on staining what was already there. Think the new stuff'll stain any easier now that you're all practiced up?:confused3:

I will spend the rest of today RTM.

We used to call it RTFM. Someone once told me the F stood for Friendly, but after I started reading Unix MAN pages, I was pretty sure it meant something quite different!

Hope you like your new saw; please let us know, OK?

Yesterday I left the iPhone on the truck dash and got a high temperature warning and my phone would not turn on for an hour till it cooled down.

My SE has done that a couple times, usually at the most inopportune moment while routing me to some destination. I stick it over the A/C vent for a few minutes and it fires right up again. Doesn't happen in the winter here, only on really hot summer days. Perhaps I need to cobble up some sort of sun shade for the windshield mount?

To pass class you must "perfectly recite" the lyrics.

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk
Music loud and women warm, I've been kicked around
Since I was born
And now it's alright, it's okay
And you may look the other way
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man

Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive

Thanks, but I think I'll stick to the metronome app on the iPhone.

RNG, I know it is RTFM, but this is supposed to be a 'family friendly' forum so I conveniently left out the F.
I got it and the quick charger, with an extra battery. I gotta go get bar oil tomorrow. The wood pile is going into the basement as I speak/type.

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 11:00AM. Rain showers this morning with some sunshine during the afternoon hours. High 51F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

If it clears up enough later, I'll have another go with the chainsaw, AFTER I swap on a new chain...

Late reporting in because the building contractor brought his excavation guy by this morning to look at the proposed shop building site. We're pretty much all in agreement that the sixty-four dollar question is how far down he'll be able to dig without hitting rock. I suggested an exploratory trench, and he thought it was a good idea. But trench or no, he's still gonna be moving a lot of rock if I can find enough budget to recontour the driveway. Hopefully get an estimate from him before the end of next week.

It was overcast but dry just before the pair of them showed up, then it started drizzling. That kind of cold, humid weather just cuts right through you, and as soon as they left I got a nice hot fire goin' in the woodstove. :) Still tryin' to thaw my fingers out.

Yesterday I stopped by a place in town that sells used pallets, and they had a stack of plastic ones they let me fish through. I found 16 that were useable, but the yard was so muddy from all our recent rain they couldn't get to them with the forklift. Hopefully I'll get a call from them early next week to come pick them up. I figure the plastic ones will hold up better for stacking firewood, and won't rot on the bottom. I'm still going to have to be more careful with the tines, though, as several of the pallets I saw were badly cracked. Now I just need to find some recycled square tube or angle to make the uprights that will stabilize the stacks and support a pallet set on top.

I didn't have any luck with steel framing material for some wood sheds I'd like to build, as the local building supply, not Lowes or HD, doesn't carry any. I did get the name of another outfit, and the contractor for the shop said he'd send me a link, so I've still got some homework to do. Nothing fancy, but I do need to figure out how to seal the roof to the walls, and get an airtight door of some sort as well. Don't want embers getting in there next time a wildfire comes through.

TGIF gang!:drink:

My Aunt has been in hospital off and on the last week with a mini stroke and yesterday a seizure. She is youngest of 10 aunts and uncles on my mothers side. More like a sister than aunt to me. She sure can use some prayers.

And she's got'em from here.

Ron, prayers for your aunt.

No word on my wife's aunt. She has been expected to pass on any time now for 2 weeks.

RNG, I had to go out with the tractor and loosen up the wood. It was all frozen together (which I knew would happen) after many snows and rain as well. There are now 3 cords in the basement and a half a cord frozen to the ground. That wont stop me from clearing the snow out to the tree and I will drive the Jeep out there, no problem.
The firewood throwing into the basement app is my stepson. :D

Don- You take active retirement to another level. You could put a lot of millennials to shame.;)

I Think Dell Web could us that for advertising in their brochure.

I'll bite. How long 'till you're checked out on the skid steer?:D

Shouldn't take you long to get the hang of it!

I have not figure out my in. It belongs to the CA not a club. But I'll be slowly be inching my way to the drivers seat. I might have to spend a week with Harvey and get proficient on his skid steer. People here know within 20 seconds if you are a real operator or a wanna-be operator.

Got to 49 before lunch, then rain mixed with snow moved in and it dropped to 35. I’m really tired of cold wet weather, but spring is coming.

Good evening all. 53F for the start, overcast, light wind. Wind picked up to moderate, saw some blue sky, and high temp was 71F. Plan A was to take wife and stepdaughter to Quilt store and Costco. When stepdaughter failed to show at 10:30, plan B went into effect, They went shopping and I went biking, going into more of a prep mode, riding 150-200 miles Easter weekend.
Buckeye safe travel for your sons and your wife's aunt's family
Ron prayers for your aunt as well.
Randy congrats on 1 yr with Ellen.
Don are you trying to replace Drew with the busiest schedule.
Drew hope your meetings went well
Prayers for all

I believe is filtering my water before getting to the tank. That’s in addition to 1st flush.
Here is link to the basic filter. Gutter Strainers
Basis is 4inch pvc and the inner strainer. Additionally I use a five gal nylon mesh around the inner strainer and panty hose leg around that. Amazing how much it catches.

Might stain just the area under lanai roof, not sure yet. Rest has already been sealed with the penetrating sealer

Potato planting day today. First another pass with hiller, then a pass with pull behind tiller set at top height to fluff the top
of the hill. Volunteers show up at 1 so lots to do before then, including another 100 pounds of potatoes to cut up.
76 degrees here tomorrow, and nothing under freezing in ten day forecast so it's planting time. Starting to see some tractors go up and down the road so the ag world is waking up.

I am tired and sore. But at least it's doing something I enjoy. This half decaf coffee sure doesn't wake me up the same....

Drew hope your meetings went well Thanks Mostly. Actually....I arrived with my red poppy flowers, immediately my ears/head went nuts from the ambient noise of all those women yakking away, and I knew I had to leave. Was there all of five minutes, made my apologies to the head, gave her the flowers and left. She knows my hearing challenges so it was ok. I can't wait to get this properly diagnosed so I can go on some kind of treatment. Right now the doc is on vacation so my last audiology exam, one to prove or disprove Meniere's, is weeks off. Maddening. I seem to be at the bottom of the priority pole...….
Good news is gardening is delightfully quiet.

45 going up to 53 today in clouds and possible a sprinkle. Game on.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
