Nice Machine !

I have 4520 no cab, with 12 hrs on it. I think I paid a little more than you for it, but you got a SMOKIN deal.

Do you really think it was that great of a deal? My father-in-law seemed to think it wasn't a good deal.

Well, I paid 21k for a new 4520 with loader and no cab.

You bought one for 19.5 with a loader, cab and only 38 hrs.

I would call that a smokin deal, I used to sell Branson tractors in another life time...

Does anybody have any cross references for filters? Want to use Hastings or Amsoil filters if possible. Fuel filter, engine oil, and hydraulic oil filter numbers would be fabulous.

I found the Amsoil cross for an engine oil filter, but that's it so far.

I have been very lucky with www search engines. Just plug in the Branson xxxxx000000000000000000xxxxxx part number, forget all the zeros and watch for the results. Ebay has served me well on this and lots of other things with great service and no worries about getting screwed.

I just wish it would warm up so I can get the fluid changed dang it. Don't like freezing my fingers off to change fluids! Apparently mother nature isn't done with winter yet here in the frozen tundra of iowa yet!

Ya. Just waiting on financing for the a-ok. Gonna go get oil and fuel filters as soon as I get it. How many quarts of oil will I need?
Get the seller to give you the manuals with the tractors and you'll know. They come new with operator manuals containing maintenance and operational instructions, quantities, and specs.

WIX Filters - Products Catalog Home

Wix makes one of the best filters out there.
Wix makes a lot of filters and lots in the heavy equipment industry including ag, probably do a lot of painted up OEM part number filters too for OEMs to sell under their part number.

Having dissected a dozen types from a dozen mfgrs, with a dozen usage variations, in time used and function, not sure which is the best. One thing that is common is that for a full flow engine oil filter you are looking at 20 microns. If you have a bypass system, like I had on my OTR 400 hp Cummins, then the flow is a 10% bypassing the main line and filter is 5 micron. Idea there is to pickup the thin film, over time, that contains dirt between the two numbers. I do use and respect Wix however and use them a lot.

Yep, got the manual with it. Went to the dealer where they bought it from to get the hydraulic and fuel filter. Just needs to warm up so I can get it all done. Been too cold to work out in the pole barn with no heat!

OK here are all of the capacities for your oils -
Engine oil 3 cylinder - 1.2 gallons of 10w-40 or 15w-40 diesel engine oil 4 cylinder - 1.7 gallons (don't remember which engine comes with that model)
Transmission(Hydraulic system) - 9.7 gallons of Premium tractor hydraulic fluid(Do NOT use 303 universal or super trac 303), these aren't rated to protect that new of a tractor
Front Axle Gear Oil - 1.84 gallons of 80w-90 or 85w-140
SO i listed to different weights for the engine and for the Front Axle, the reason i did is the lighter weight oil is best for colder climates and the heavier weight oil is better for warmer climates.
as for maintenance i would definitely change all the fluids it may only be at 38 hours but it has sat for long enough to warrant the change especially since its from 2014.
i would go through and tighten all your nuts & Bolts and grease everything on it as well.
Hope this helps you out.

Been using the heck out of it this last week with our snow melt and water everywhere. Still haven't gotten oil changed but will do that this week. Thankfully it's finally feeling like spring around here! Currently at 56 hrs already, so definitely getting some use!
