Remotes on the tractor appear to be 1/2 inch ISO 7241-1 B and would use 7241-1 A, and in reading could also use ISO 5675
The size chart does help because it doesn't show what the size of the 1/2 M/F connecting part is, but does show the outer body of the Female is 1.37 or 1 3/8 wide.

Are my assumptions correct?

All parts arrived except the 3/4 to 1 inch bushing. Picked up a 2.5 cylinder and there isn't much room for the cylinder to pivot. Once the bushing is installed there will be a tad less, but it still does move

Yeah, you can't run it like that. You are risking breaking the tol link bracket on your tractor. That's why I built mine.

Guess its either cut the eye off and add a spacer, or get a clevis knuckle. Think the knuckle will be the winner

Found a weld on end at TSC for $15, think I'll go that route unless I see something else.

That's what I did when building mine. It extended the swivel enough that the barrel didn't hit anymore.

I am in the middle of putting ahydraulic top link on my m9540 . I thought I could pick up a cylinder at TSC . but now I am not so sure.

There are adds at the top of the page showing 2 different types of top links. One is the style AllDodge has and the other has some sort of connection between ports that I'm guessing is a bypass of some sort. Any info on what it is or why it's needed?

I would think someone would sell one that does nor need modification.

If Brian can confirm it'll fit, I have a complete set of GearMore Top-N-Tilt cylinders I got from the Kubota dealer, complete with hoses ready to bolt on for sale... Practically brand new, took it off my M7060 because I went with Fit-Rite cylinders...

They do sell them ready to go, and the ones at TSC are ready to go. What I didn't realize at the time, is look for "top link", the TL ones have longer shanks. The only reason I didn't buy one of those going out first is wanting at least a 2.5 inch cylinder for more holding power. I'm sure the smaller ones will work just as well, but didn't go that route.

This one has a 2 inch cylinder and would work for our tractors, and has the check valves. Its a Cat 2 and would only need the Cat 2 to 1 bushing
AMA USA Category 2 Hydraulic Top Link, 21-5/8 - 32-11/16 in. at Tractor Supply Co.

Can also find similar at surplus center and a lot of other places

Your set only fits the M7060 & lesser HP M series frame size. The M8560 and larger HP M models are a larger frame size and the working lengths are not correct for those larger frame tractors. :(

Makes sense. Thank you.

It's called a pilot lock that prevents cylinder drift.

A little late to the party but my thoughts....

First...a 2.5" bore cylinder sounds too small for a m9540

Second...20-30" range sounds too short.

Mine is on a mx5100, smaller machine. But I'm more in the 24-36 range. And with quick hitch on and level...toplink is 30". Right in the middle of my range, but would be at Max extend if I had a 20-30 range. And that wouldn't work for me.

Third....in reply to 3ts post, and to confirm what ovrszd said.....that is indeed pilot checks. And yes it prevents drift to an extent. BUT you can NOT use float function with one of them.

I am thinking of buying the SUMMIT hydraulic electronic divirter valve to operate the hyd top link.

My nephew has a MX5200 and measured his arms last week, and top link and lower arms are longer then the M9540.

That could be.

What is the range of the factory toplink. That is a good starting point.

I still think a 2-1/2" cylinder is too small for that machine. And most certainly a 2" is way too small

The length range is going to be determined by the measurements I mentioned in post #12.

Size of tractor is irrelevant.
