Good morning!!!!

Good morning, unlike those of you getting a soaking, it looks like a dry day ahead for us.

I don't think I'm getting as many flashes in my eye now, so I sat down outside last night to try and measure this strange thing. Last night I counted 25 light streaks in 10 minutes. Fortunately the ground has gone soft with the rain and I now have an air seat, so my wife has approved me taking the Iseki out as long as I go real steady.

CWB, I've not come across rodeo style mutton busting here. A few places do hold annual fun sheep races, however they are under pressure from people who oppose the use of animals for human food or pleasure. I found an example video on youtube, so you can judge for yourself how "cruel" this is. Sheep Racing at Frampton On Severn.217 - YouTube

To me the sheep look like they are used to being handled and don't seem to be under stress, though I do detect some possible minor cruelty coming for the young boy dressed up in the "sheep dog" costume - when his parents show this to the girlfriends he brings home in a few years time :)

Since I've never seen anything quite like that sheep racing, I enjoyed the video. It just looks to me like a lot of people having a lot of fun, and I'm not too sure the sheep didn't also enjoy it.:D

Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 5:30AM. Sunny. High 89F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Good to see you all so busy and recuperating. Not so good news on the east coast and Hawaiian weather front, though. Be safe.

Nice trip south, beautiful weather in the mountains, very hot on the way down (hundreds for temps). Found a few new roads, some like skiing on pavement. Also fancy quesadilla place in Visalia was very good for lunch, even found a spot to park in the shade. Campground gate was locked when I arrived on Thursday night, so I parked at the lodge and hiked in with my gear. Two large fawns wandered by while I was putting up the tent not far away, then got busy browsing on the brush. Mama wasn't far behind and decided to watch until I started blowing up the air matress, which must have been frighteningly big and red. Since the restaurant was closed by the time I finished, dinner was a couple packs of cheese crackers and a liter of Guinness, not quite enough to overcome the poor tent lay and get a good night's rest. New spot the next day was much better, and with lots of buddies showing up, more interesting, too. One friend was recently returned from the ALCAN 5000, a ride from Kirkland,WA to Fairbanks via the Blackwater, Cassiar, Klondike, Top of the World, Richardson and Denali Highways. He'd built a bike similar to mine from a basket case and it performed flawlessly, said he had a great ride in spite of the variety of both good and very bad weather. Ride home yesterday not as warm and without incident, othern than the bike being reluctant to start in the morning's 37F temperatures. I guess I should have just stayed in bed a little longer.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Rip, when it comes to wind, no roof on is better than half a roof on.

Yeah...seeking confirmation. That run-in is gnawing at me. It should have been done a while back. But with missed deliveries, weather and life in general....it is where it is. IF I can get the roof on, I could be working in the shade. These past few weeks, have been brutal as far as outside work goes. I am sure many will agree. I just need three days of OK weather and no interruptions. LOL.

Attached is like a week ago. Notice the color of my helpers shirt. LOL. Me, myself and I are getting it done.

Hope all have a great start to the work week. I need to check on my mower too. Last I heard the fuel line to the shutoff valve was clogged. I told them to take the tank off and clean it up. Guess I need to rethink my re-fueling practices.

Good morning! The coldest weather in months, 69˚ this morning, light mist.

Eric, your sheep racing seems lame compared to backward mutton busting.

At least here in America only the kids and sheep get bruised and that will heal in a few weeks. Your public costume wearing is a mental scar that could last a lifetime.

Yesterday was rainy and windy, temperature fell from 70 early to 65 by late day. It is 71 now and they say it will get to 87, we shall see. It certainly looks like we are in for some rain and wind late week. Buppies, Ed Wngspred and BEF are going to get a ton of rain. Drew, you are near the bullseye and might want to consider a visit to someone not where you are.
This storm, as often happens when it stays hot late like it has this year, will bring fall with it for the east coast.

HA ha.

However I'm having second thoughts of going as an Instant Pot, you know, a pressure cooker in a crowded area is a different kind of scary after Boston, maybe not in good taste.
Go as your favorite stew vegetables, you stew together.

That looks like child abuse! What did the poor children do wrong? :)

back from gassing up the truck, everything now full, prescriptions up to date, not much else to do
what I was going to do otherwise. Mow lawn...
folks getting a little antsy at the gas pump, start seeing people drive faster, and the storm is three days away...state of mind.

dropped off nine pounds of veggies to food pantry, small haul, and will pick once more on Thursday then expect the garden to take
a major hit. Probably good time to shut it down anyway and looks like Mother Nature will do that.
15 to 20 inches of rain will make things interesting here.
My brother in VA says it's been raining hard up there for days, ground is saturated, and they are in the path of this too, though being out by the mountains they are further away, but back country roads with creeks going through them will simply become impassable.
My brother was a bit excessive on his back up gen, 70kw...have no idea why he thought he needed all that. With a little common sense I can run three hvacs and a full house on 22kw. But not all at once...

Wingsprd, Buppies, Buckeye, Toppop, many others, looks like we are all in the same soup here. Major warnings out for Chesapeake Bay and big storm surge, real marina wrecker.

56°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 77° today. Clear skies and moderate temperatures are expected most of this week.

The rains from the tropical depression arrived here late Friday evening, and lasted through the whole day on Saturday. We got a serious soaking. The lake overflowed most of the day and the road was flooded over in several places. Worse, though, was the water coming into the corner of the new porch on the walkout basement. Just as we thought we had that problem licked with the remodeling and new retaining wall, I found myself manning the shopvac once again. Sent an angry text (with picture) to the landscaper reminding why we told him it was important to not direct any water in that direction. Haven't heard back from him yet.

Went out yesterday morning to jump back into the Deckasaurus project, only to have a heavy mist start falling as soon as I got the saw set up. Back in the garage with everything. Guess I'll try to chip away at it a little at a time each day after work this week. Wife and I spent the rest of the day piddling with inside stuff.

Great picture, Eric.

Hope everyone with weather heading their way stays safe.
