41 right now...high about 65 today. Main chore is to mow the lawn...maybe some weed trimming. Since I wrote about it yesterday, I'll probably drop the chipper off the 3PH. I'd like to put the chipper in the garage for the winter...not sure if I can do enough re-arranging to do that. Boy, I wish I had an out building tall enough to stow all my gear! If I can't get it in the garage, I'll have to cover it with a tarp for the winter. If the chipper comes off...might as well rig the snow blower to the 3PH.
We'll see what actually gets done today...

Oh yeah...one thing I do like about this front blade (and the rubber wear bar) is it'll be a lot better to back drag snow from the garage and other areas...

A little damp first thing and going to be cloudy for most of the day, though with a bit of luck the rain has done with us for a while.

Youngest grandson was awake before day break. I heard my daughter up with him and was able to send her back to bed for a few more hours of sleep that are so precious to any parent with children who want to play instead of keep on dreaming. Yesterday he took a liking to my new cap.

Good to hear you are on the mend Randy.

Don, fancy dress for Halloween? What a marketing opportunity - just claim it's a modern twist on a witches cauldron and make a huge Instant Pot costume. Of course your wife is far too nice to be a witch - after giving you that second chance at life, she's more like a Queen of Hearts.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 53° with a few clouds this morning. Heading to 61° with some rain in afternoon. Lawn got cut yesterday. Not much planned for today. NASCAR if it ever stops raining in Indianapolis.

Roy, nice blade I have similar on my tractor. But have the extra valves for front and rear blade. I have a thick rubber edge on mine. After 18 years of use it does not show much wear.

Eric, cute picture.

Randy, hope eye healing continues.

Don, been awhile since we had a Halloween party at our place. I remember one couple showed up with cardboard costumes. They had painted bricks on them with the words. Bricklayer and Brick. :ashamed: Maybe not appropriate for your community. :D

David, glad you got the bolt out.

Prayers for all those in need.

Good Morning All.

Marvelous picture Eric, you should get that framed.
Roy, if I were closer I'd come volunteer to drive that for you, nice rig.
We are going to rename you the SnowBuster!
and may all the snow go someplace else...

you all are making me nervous about this storm. I'm supposed to drive North on Wednesday.
How does one spell iffy?
this place floods too easily for me to leave even in a major rain event.
Last night they showed consistent winds Thursday night between 30 and 35mph for about ten hours.
In the night, the worst time. trees falling down...
well, that's why I have a backup gen and a tractor with a grapple.

My only task for today is changing the oil in the Generac gen. Nice easy job, gen might be getting some use
so good timing. I change oil once a year and due to running propane, it's always like new. But oil is cheap so I change it.

my friends from PA who visited own a coffee company, and Billy, you would have liked their house presents. Must be over ten pounds of assorted whole beans to grind, five different varieties. Enjoying a cup of Peets coffee right now.

cooked some bacon for breakfast, and no matter how awfully unhealthy it looks while cooking, swimming in fat...
sure is yummy when done. I only eat bacon about once a month, bought it for guests and we didn't eat it.
I'll use the rest for flavoring cooking. Everything Goes Better With Bacon says a small sign in a friend's kitchen...

Hope you all have a great day and remember to tell your family you love them.
Every wife should get a Sunday Smooch. ;)

Eric, that's a good looking future farmer there. And the old one ain't bad.

   / Good morning!!!! #81,466
62 and a hard rain...been raining all night, based on the number of times I kept waking up. :(. Should only hit 72 and more rain.

Roy, you'll need lots of extra snow to play with that cool blade. :)

Eric, the cap fits perfectly...a chip off the old block.

Drew, thanks for the reminder to take the generator out and test start it and get prepared. I'll have to check the records, but don't think mine needs an oil change.

Ron, Brick and Bricklayer - that's a good one.

Got the rest of the mowing done yesterday.

Kyle, rather than carrying 10 gallons to David, I'm going on the monthly payment plan...I'm gonna mail him a quart of diesel each month.

weather forecast keeps getting worse here. Now a bullseye on me, four days of rain, major floods and headed right where I wanted to drive to.
Very unlikely I'm going anywhere.
In fact headed to store before the hordes and will pick up some more milk. Fun to watch people buy ten loaves of bread at a time.
Really? You eat that much bread?

Am guessing the Outer Banks will get evacuated, should know soon.

43F cloudy now mid 60's for high sunny.

2 good nights of sleeping weather...sure feels good. :)
Plans for today...quick trip to super market, mow main lawn, watch little football and nascar, puttering, check game cams.
Notice small spike under apple tree this morning w/no velvet...another sign autumn around the corner.

Enjoy the day all.

59 high of 65 .95 in of rain yesterday and last night. The models are still dancing Drew but Monday should start to tell the tale. If I were betting Myrtle Beach to Wilmington is the zone to watch and if it travels inland then I’m in trouble. Remember to the right is the strongest part of the storm and so far the euro has been more spot on so I’d pay attention to that one until we get closer then look for short range models

Ron Halloween party sounds fun

Handsome grandson Eric

Prayers for all those in harms way those in need and silent requests

and I'm surely to the Right.. (well on this one :D)

need something to push it out to sea and that apparently isn't happening.
This has been a wet year for the East Coast anyway and now four days of rain on the forecast, well over five inches I'm sure, it's the ten to fifteen inches that will make this area impassable, like most places actually.
at least my ditches are cleaned out, not much to do but wait. Will absolutely wreck the rest of the veggie garden, four days of rain
will rot it all. Well one way to put the garden to bed for the year. All those new little cucumber plants too...8 foot tall okra plants are not going to survive 35mph winds either.

All this hurricane talk, and momma nature is churning them out now. Wow. Looks like I better get my chain saw ready. That thing still has idle/full speed issues.

57 outside this AM. Nice, grey and wet morning. Looks like an indoor day. Although checking the pool this AM the water was nice. Clear blue and warmer than the air. Should I do it? Probably will. Next few days will be more wet and soggy.

Yesterday was final roofing day for the run-in. In the rain. Up high on ladders. No fun. Too many friends had ladder accidents over my years. One stepped wrong off a ladders last rung. Broken bones in foot. Six months in a cast and a year of recover. Just stepped wrong. Others fared, much...much worse. Always in the back of my head up high on ladders. Don't like them. Job is done now. Just need to lay metal down and get to screwing screws. Too bad it is raining.... weather this year, not ideal for building stuff outside.

Hope all have a great day, be safe. Get prepared. Fill those inside tubs for the weather coming. Get some batteries for your first alert radios. Make sure you generator is close by and ready to go. And get a lot of munchies.

Eric, so far you are in first place, my wife likes your fancy dress idea, she also wanted to tell you you have a very cute grandson.
Now I'm going to have to figure out how to make an instant pot costume. I may have to ask assistance from the "Art Club".

Good morning! We are under a flash flood warning, rains expected most of the day. 73˚ to 77˚ today.

Roy it looks like you can wear 5" off that rubber blade before you need a replacement edge. It will be interesting to hear next spring how much of the blade you rubbed off to get an estimate life of the edge.

Ron Halloween party sounds fun

Mention to wife that Don was looking for suggestions for Halloween party costumes. She reminded me that party was also for our youngest son's 1st birthday. 44 years ago. :confused3:
Lots of things we should do again. That is another one. But it gets harder every year.

Good morning! We finally got a bit o' rain, with more hopefully on the way! IIRC, we've had about .3" since July 4th. That's about a trace per month. Now the clay in my garden can loosen enough to till it in a few days.

You guys on the eastern seaboard keep watch, be ready to alter plans and batten the hatches.

Ed, hope the boy had a good party and day. I like cake too. And it likes me. You are a good man for helping take care of him.

Eric, great pic. One for the family photo album.

I pray that you all have a blessed day. And if you're ailing, that you all keep healing.

It was 39° this morning, yesterday was partly cloudy and in the high 70's. The forecast hasn't changed much for the last week and doesn't look like it's changing for this week. Highs in the 70's to the low 80's, mostly sunny and little to no rain for the week.

Not much planned for today. One of the neighbors is having a get together for lunch today. So we are going up to visit with some of the other neighbors.

Eric ... I like the picture. Do they have mutton busting in the UK ?

Wishing everyone the very best.
CWB.

Eric, great picture!
.17 since midnight but it’s picking up now, rain all day with increasing winds to 30 mph from the NE. High 71 today.
Forecast for Friday through a Monday is rain and wind, both heavy at times.
I gotta make sure the tractors and generator are all working.
My big worry is a tall pine that died from last years fire, guy was supposed to take it down all summer, guess what?
Have a good day folks, Lord bless you all.
