66°F and light rain this morning, going up to 76° today. Just a couple of days ago, that was about the low temp, and today it'll be the high. Expecting some more storms later today with this weather system spinning over the area.

I, too, admired much of Mr. Krauthammer's writing. His voice will be missed.

My Wife had a lawn sweeper years ago, long before we got married. Worked well in areas that get too tall to let the cut grass lay. She let someone else use it and it got abused and fell into serious disrepair (basically fell apart). Been thinking about getting another one. We have one area between the lake and the road that stays wet for long periods of time from lake water overflow, making it sometimes impossible to mow for long stretches. Would be nice to have one again for that area.

Everywhere else we mow regularly we just let the clippings from the side discharge do their natural decomposition thing.

Another hot and humid SC day shaping up with potential for Tstorms later today. I do not think that I will every fully adjust to heat and humidity. I sweat thinking about heat (and physical exertion :embarrassed

Yesterday we checked out Clemson U's Botanical Gardens

I rarely agreed with CK., but I respected his intelligence and points of view. He made me think. I will miss his commentaries. RIP

Sunday we start a slow return to MA; hopefully sampling barbecue along the way and avoiding I85 if we can. Good barbecue is good barbecue regardless of where it is made.

I hope the shoulders and knees keep mending, those in need receive what is needed, and everyone healthy stay that way.

Speaking of wines ... The Wife and I recently bought some golf equipment from an online retailer (The Golf Warehouse). Yesterday, they sent her a gift card for an online wine seller to get a case of wine, normally $115, for about $60. She was enthusiastic, to say the least. I pointed out that the wine cabinet is already almost full. She responded by suggesting she'll just have to start drinking more wine.

I think I like where this is going. :thumbsup:

I built a wine cellar in our basement, but finally gave up maintaining an empty cellar. Now I "speciallze" in vodkas and tequilas with cold beers as "hydration aids."

It looks like it was 42* for the low this morning, yesterday was clear and in the high 70's with a 15-20 wind. Today is going to be a copy of yesterday. I don't see any rain coming any time soon.

End up spending more time in town yesterday then I thought we would. Didn't get back tell the late afternoon. So I'll get started on the painting the trim on the shed this morning.

Wngsprd ... She is doing better, she is down to taking Tylenol for the pain. She starts physical therapy this afternoon. And she said that she has been sleeping better the last few nights. So far the only down side is she has to eat my cooking.

:laughing: I kind of figured something got lost in the translation there.

We talked about putting a wine cellar in the storage area under the stairs when we were remodeling the house. As neither of us are really big drinkers, we decided to just keep it as a general storage area. She found a nice wine rack on Craigslist, and we put that in the corner of the kitchen instead. Even had a glass door made for the front of the glass rack section at the top. We do enjoy a glass of wine on occasion, but that's about it.

I have a large group of friends who call themselves The Tequila Snobs. They are all into the very high-dollar stuff. However, they'll drink just about anything that doesn't have the Quervo name on it. I've tried many here and there over the years. Some of the more affordable ones like Herradura and Espolon are quite good. I used to be a big whiskey/bourbon drinker, and some of the tequilas are quite similar to that experience. These days, though, I'm much happier without the hangovers.

I am not a wine drinker but I do enjoy Tequlia, I mostly drink the Blancos and this one is my favorite, Casa Dragones Blanco it is enjoyable and sipable at room temp or chilled with no after taste or bite, it's not inexpensive, usually over $60 a bottle.

The weather forecast was right for yesterday... we had thundershowers for sure.

Middle daughter and SIL purchased a 20 year travel trailer with missing title, but the story is a good one. We bought a 1998 travel trailer in 2008 that was is very good condition. We had it 6 years and sold it to wife's nephew when we got a newer trailer. Wife's nephew wanted it bad, but knows nothing about trailers and is not mechanically inclined so to speak. They used trailer several times over the 4 years they had it but it was sitting out in weather all year with no maintenance.

"Everything works, it is still winterized" and "I'll take care of title and send it to you". My daughter only paid half for bill of sale, balance minus repairs for major issues will be paid upon receipt of clear title.

Batteries are 10 years old (we bought them new when we bought trailer in 2008),
Awning arm jammed on one side (broken release pin/latch, could be quick $25 fix),
Pex pipes split under kitchen sink, connector to faucet broken, low point drains still had plugs in and one had split pipe.
Outside shower faucet broken (sprays water from broken base),
Hot water heater works intermittently,

We worked on it most of yesterday, it was obvious that it had NOT been winterized at least after the last time it was used. I had traded for some pex crimpers last year in prep for redo our house with pex, so a trip to home depot for some fittings and pipe. those repairs went well, no leaks.

Shower faucet is broken at base where hose attaches so as long as faucets are off, no leaks. Hot water heater ran perhaps 5 minutes first time and shut off, messed with things and it ran a bit longer. Re-seated some connectors and it ran perhaps 15 minutes, but water not fully hot yet. Checked all the normal stuff, plan is to clean electrical connectors again and clean the electrode/sensor and see how it runs. It was fired up 4 years ago without any water in tank so suspect thermostats might need replacing ($10).

Furnance and AC work ok. (AC intake filter needs replacing as foam is crumbling)
Tires were brand new when we sold it 4 years ago and show no cracking or problems.

Daughter got a good deal on it and will get good use out it (likely live in it some while building their new house). They bought 5 acres and are putting in power now (started digging trench with backhoe, slow going with large rocks but will save them some significant money.

Oldest daughter will be in town this weekend with their 5 kiddos (3 are foster kids). Should be fun with all going on.. I will likely need to get some zero turn mower time to relax..

75F not cloud in the sky.

Outside little after 5am getting couple things done before 7:30am hospital appointment,couple good hours back pack blower cleaning up those many nasty pine cones than made dump run,in while mow the lawn later today stop by the Old Timers Fair...yup fair season has started.

Time for quick sandwich and something cool to drink. :licking:
