I recently bought L4350 with a backhoe... it痴 been a really wet spring. With the hoe on the tractor is afraid of its own shadow- with it removed I get around pretty good but wish it had r1痴 on it. I知 wondering if it痴 a bad idea to mix types of tires front to rear since the fronts are easy and pretty cheap to swap if bought a pair of r1痴 to replace the r4痴. The current tires are in great shape and I think I could get a fair amount for them.

Do you think this would help much and would it be ok for the tractor?

Thanks guys!

Bad idea without changing both fronts and rears. Then you would also need new rims. R1s require a different size than R4s.
I think your best bet would to purchase a good set of tire chains. I find mud is the hardest and messiest thing to deal with.

If I understand things correctly its the diameter of the tires that causes problems. The correct ratio of diameter of the tires front to back affects the drive components. So be sure the front tires are the correct diameter.

This applies if the tractor is 4WD. 2WD, not so important
