It may not be the case - I couldn't log in, but after they reset my password it was back to normal.
So far I've not heard of any being gone.

No problem at all here. I have a Firefox menu-bar icon that goes to Today's Posts. (click that).

Entering via that, I was able to post. This shows that 'remember me' was preserved in the image of the site that came back up.
