Currently my wife has a Sam's Club set. Previous set was Costco. They lasted 10 years. About the same price. Not sure where I will go when the time comes.

It got cold overnight 3*, we did get a dusting of snow yesterday less then a inch. Today's going to be partly cloudy with the high in the 30's. We might get a light snow overnight.

RNG... That's what I was thinking. We are going back up today to help her do some stuff in the barn.

My wife keeps telling me I need a hairy chest.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

CWB.

I have been sliding around more than usual in the mud this morning, trying and only just succeeding to stay upright while being jostled by the sheep. They have been getting extra rations by the way of feed pellets for the last few days and now come running as fast as heavily pregnant ewes can go - which is surprisingly fast down hill. Time to move the feeding troughs up to some dry ground - if only such a thing existed.

We were fortunate to be invited to the birthday party of a local dairy farmer yesterday. I have been aware for a few years that my hearing is failing and it was never more apparent than last night when I was often only able to make out a few words from each sentence. Voices seemed plenty loud enough, it was my inability to make them out against the sound of lots of people talking at the same time that was my problem. This morning the every present background hiss is louder than ever, as if my brain hasn't yet found a way to turn down the sensitivity setting dial. I guess it's all part of the fun of getting older :)

Drew, sound like your RV went to a good home if they went to the trouble of sending you a thank you email.

Eric-
GET Y0UR HEARING TESTED!!
There's a BBC tv episode of "As time goes by" that exactly explains a problem I had - "Pardon"

I had back surgery and immediately after was almost deaf in my left ear. Over a period of a month I had two doctors of my HMO look at the ear. One rinsed it out and basically said sorry, that's life. I was just about to get a hearing aid. They finally sent me to the REAL ENT specialist.

They gave my ears a REAL deep cleaning and pulled out "chunks" of ear wax, one almost 2cm long. I could have made candles.

That was about 15 years ago or so.

I'd note that up to about that time I would swim A LOT during the summers, toward the end with my children. Thus I was probably flushing out the wax naturally. When that stopped (children grew up) I let my ear hygiene lapse. Since then I've picked up on my ear hygiene.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 8:00AM. Cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 56F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

My dad lost a lot of his hearing as a child from scarlet fever, and a great deal more from jet engines and guns. My tinnitus is constant, and like many of you, sometimes conversations are hard to understand, as is dialog on TV. But I also find myself caring much less about what most people say, so I guess it evens out.:confused2: My internist's nurse has a really nifty ultrasonic ear wax cleaner that's getting to be an annual tradition for me. Only hangup is that he wants me to pour olive oil in my ears for a week at bedtime to soften the wax before a treatment, an inconvenience I've been putting off like the bad patient I am.

Motorcycle parts arrived on time yesterday and I was able to finish several little jobs on the bike. The glue held on the steering damper repair, so I installed that as well. I got tired of waiting on the replacement brake shoes, and used engine compression to keep the transmission output flange from turning, letting me finish installation of the drive line, too. Today I'll see about cleaning carbs, as the other gasket and o-ring kit showed up in yesterday's box. Sure wish I could lay hands on the old Berryman's carb cleaner, but the nanny state has outlawed the most effective ingredients, so now I have to use an ultrasonic cleaner instead. Still trying to make up my mind if I want to soda blast the outsides, as they have a nice uniform gray patina on them now.

Hope those of you fighting the weather come out OK and it gets better soon. And that all the rest of you enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Ron- You are empathically perceptive with your Mom (probably others too:cool:). This is really not rocket science; it's being a caring human being. Thanks for your support of Mom. I saw more than one longterm facility care "dump" of a "loved" one :( I had to write a lot of evaluative psychodiagnostic reports. I like polysyllabic "big" words. I also like compound/complex runon sentence structure with loosely associated themes. Some "professionals" felt I make free use of "neologisms" :D BTW- Toronto traffic rush hour is very similar to San Jose which makes Boston traffic seem civilized.
My Mom passed away in 2015. Lived a good life of 96 years. But the last 3 years were filled with UTI's.
Only one new word a day. psychodiagnostic Google says it is misspelled. But a Google search says "In short, psychodiagnostic testing is used to help diagnose and clarify concerns regarding behavior, personality traits, mood, emotional functioning, and cognitive processes". No wonder some people never recover. Their diagnoses got lost in the description. :D

Planning a quite day and, like Ron, watch NASCAR cup race at Daytona this afternoon. I’m anxious to see if my boy Jimmie Johnson is planning on a “take no prisoners” season this year with an 8th Championship.

Maybe a new thread “My Cup Boy can beat up your Cup Boy (or Cup Girl)??? . That shouldn’t be any more controversial than single lid vs. dual lid grapples, HST vs. gear, R1 vs. R4 vs. turfs???

You will get no arguments from me. JJ needs to do it this year or fade away into his last winning burnout. I can cheer for anyone but Candy Man.

35 degrees here this morning at 6 a.m. and expect it to get to about 45 this afternoon. It was 62 degrees here yesterday at 6 a.m. Forecast says we’re back to mid to high 70’s by mid week.
