I guess I need a hearing aid, Lynn always said I had selective hearing!
I have tinnitus from medication and ear damage from gunshot and explosives sounds. I can hear I just can’t discern.

Selective hearing is an acquired talent one only hears what they want to hear or so my grandmother said

36° and wet. Need to clean pellet stove today, so off it goes. Will be cool when we get home later.
I stopped drinking diet soda a few yrs ago, and cut back on soda in general. Hard to not get one eating out. Even lemonaide is sugar, so hard to get away from it. We dont keep it at home.

Unsweetened tea works for me or just plain water

Tea is best when dumped in the harbor. My new office has a free soda fountain, with lemonaide.

Good morning 43 with rain fog over the lake nothing much planed for today.
Sympathies to all with hearing problems I also have constant ringing most likely caused from to many years of sirens, range qualifications and old tractors. Worst part I turn the volume up on the radio or TV and wife turns it down constant up and down in our marriage lol

Buenos Dias es caballeros!!!!!! (It's slowly coming back; too bad I'll forget all my limited Spanish by next week :().

Daugen- It's so sad that many State and Federal politicians are mis-informed about THC/CBD due to lack of real longterm scientific research and still try to enforce morality through misguided legislation. MA is fortunaely has legalized medical and recreational marijuana. I am a card carrying medical marijuana user. The two doctors who evaluated me believed that I was a textbook case for the utility of MM. I believe that I meet 8 different criteria for the MM card authorization (only 1 is needed). CBD is a wonderful anti-inflammatory chemical. THC seems to "slow down" the nerve impulses for the neuropathy. Althugh I am now diabetic due to the meds; my peripheral neuropathy is driven by auto-immune issues. I have seen MM products' THC levels as high as 24% at the dispensary; which is way too high for me. I need a more balanced THC/CBD product. I am not sure about my own Skunkworks project MM THC/CBD levels, but it is far, far cheaper than what the dispensary dispenses . Interestingly the "free and open street market" has forced MM down in costs. It's legal to grow and possess, but it is still illegal for retail sales, but I have read about some $300 dollar baggies for sale here in MA

Ed- Thank you for the thank you. I have no problem sharing what I know/eperienced to help others deal with the effects of aging; for themselves and/or for those they love. Knowledge like this should be freely shared to help everyone make informed decisions.

Ron- You are empathically perceptive with your Mom (probably others too:cool:). This is really not rocket science; it's being a caring human being. Thanks for your support of Mom. I saw more than one longterm facility care "dump" of a "loved" one :( I had to write a lot of evaluative psychodiagnostic reports. I like polysyllabic "big" words. I also like compound/complex runon sentence structure with loosely associated themes. Some "professionals" felt I make free use of "neologisms" :D BTW- Toronto traffic rush hour is very similar to San Jose which makes Boston traffic seem civilized.

Randy- Years ago a group of TBNers formed the "Northeast Division" and met acouple of times. It was really  to meet the people who have become your cyber-friends. That "Division" did not end well due to politics and I left TBN. Probably most of those "Division" members got thrown out of TBN for their harrassmnt of moderators (like Bird back then).

Don- 7#'s of sugar for 5G's of H2O is hummingbird food. I bet it gives a super good sugar "rush" and awesome crash later.

B7510HSD- Awesome weather page. I am super envious. I was briefly on WeatherUnderground years ago. With my next station I hope to set up another page like yours.

Buppies- Your GrandMom's sage observation is right on target. Most GrandMom's and GrandPa's are wise; wisdom gained through experience and real life trials and challenges that many of us will never experience ourselves (thankfully).

My hearing is shot as well. I can not hear convrsations in crowded spaces nor in rooms with bad acoustics. At times my hearing deficits come in handy.

I have a personal theory that aging males are genetically pre-disposed to lose the hearing of the audio frequencies commonly used in feminine speech.

My + thoughts, prayers, and wishes for all especially for those in need of support and their supporters.

Pura Vida.

35 degrees here this morning at 6 a.m. and expect it to get to about 45 this afternoon. It was 62 degrees here yesterday at 6 a.m. Forecast says we’re back to mid to high 70’s by mid week.

Planning a quite day and, like Ron, watch NASCAR cup race at Daytona this afternoon. I’m anxious to see if my boy Jimmie Johnson is planning on a “take no prisoners” season this year with an 8th Championship.

Maybe a new thread “My Cup Boy can beat up your Cup Boy (or Cup Girl)??? . That shouldn’t be any more controversial than single lid vs. dual lid grapples, HST vs. gear, R1 vs. R4 vs. turfs???

Hoping all with flu, etc. are on the mend.

I really should have fired up the water wagon, just started with the golf cart and four 2 gallon cans and 7 trips later I was done. All newbies now watered twice, plus rain is coming in.
Put back about ten wire cages around the new trees, which came off last year's dead pecans. Still have one hole to fill in one row, down in the wet area at the bottom. I really need to work on drainage there. Can't use last fifty feet of row. I have a WR Long tree spade I can use to scoop out a little gulley and I could finally use my TNT and rear blade on an angle and likely make a mess that way. But I think using my Fred Cain subsoiler I got from Everything attachments as my very first implement, along with a plow, for a rocky field in PA. Now I can use if to dig a thin
trench by backing up to the ditch and then just pulling it forward in 4wd low. The area is muddy so clearly I should have done this in a drier season.

Am beginning to start on my tomato seedlings. They say plant indoors two months ahead and ding ding the time has come. Little concerned over the peas. One is growing over an inch a day, looks like it wants to jump out of the tray into the ground somewhere... Once the rain stops, I'll be planting snap peas in the raised garden where I have a trellis. Great fun "on the hunt" for those sweet tender peas. Was warm enough today I was in shorts and a tshirt, while Don is cold in Texas. That means in a few days I am likely going to be cold too. That weather just seems to mosey on over here...
