Thomas felt like yuck all day runs when I get home now better

44 high of 55 rain showers before lunch

Still feel puny

Prayers for all
Prayers you get feeling better.

Cool and rainy predicted tonight/tomorrow.

Fair warning, we have a new 16 yo driver on the roads....Good thing we practiced parallel parking a few times just before we went....that was the first thing they did as soon as they rounded the corner. Good grief the amount of paperwork you have to have filled out...

I took lunch to my coworker friend (covid ventilator/intubated survivor), and we had some good talk.

It's been a busy hectic day.

We have haircutting places down here called "Sport Clips". It's rare you get the same stylist twice, they must have a lot of turnover. But if you buy the full tilt, besides the haircut, you get your hair washed in a comfortable basin leaning back, along with a nice scalp massage and a hot towel to cover/clean your face if you want. Then blow dry and put some gel if you want. It is nice, I have to admit. $25+ tip. So about $30-32.

Ron, your picture is worthy of being my new wallpaper. (I still have the lady's garden pic as of now).

Don, good to see whipper dog kicking back and feeling good. I love the limestone bridge, was wondering how a bicycle could cross it. Are bikes allowed? Sorry some clumsy individual fell, and now the project has to scale back the project to lowest common denominator. Maybe someone should put a sign up saying "Fit walkers only path".

Mostly, I remember the TV best buy commercial, where the husband and wife had bought a new piece of furniture (TV hutch), and he had brought home a new TV. She was looking at the remaining space around the edge and said something like "You could go bigger" and his eyes/smile lit up.

Have a blessed day all, prayers....for our country too.

Seems a lot of the thread is on politics today :(
I don't see any poll area doors, I vote by mail. Should be a good method unless/until Dejoy succeeds in shutting down the Post Office.

That seems like more politics…

Bikes are not allowed on the hiking trails. There are no bike trails.

At FireWise this morning rumors already had 3 people falling off the rock bridge into the creek. (But they were false, only one.)

Was finally successful in getting the USPS to deliver mail to Mom's yard instead of roadside. Just took 5 weeks. Lots of paperwork, telephone calls, texts, Dr. letter, photos and sketches and relocation of yard mailbox twice. Now she really does not need her car.

What is this “hair” you keep talking about?
I do have hair, just not much, when I did my late wife’s stylist did it.

Low 30s tonight, might get a light freeze here in the outlying areas. Rain all day so far just not much.

Here there is no campaigning inside a hundred yards.

Drew, I admire your school board service, I do believe parents should have a say in what subject matter is taught beyond math, proper English grammar, true science and actual history the way it happened, which should take up enough of the day so there’s no time for second graders to learn graphic ****** content or how being white is evil.

Tried draining and wrapping up the hoses this evening, and broke the hose reel by the garage door. It's a plastic connector on the reel, and the metal hose connector was stuck. My attempt to free it with pliers ended up freeing half of the plastic tube from the other half. It's still stuck in the hose, with the whole shebang in the garbage can for collection tomorrow. I never liked that hose or reel anyway. So, there.

   / Good morning!!!! #140,687
I got both of my hose reels blown out this afternoon, and all the shorter hoses picked up and drain, my pressure washer and chemical sprayer down in the basement. So I expect the predicted freeze for here will not happen :p
Went and voted this afternoon also nice and quiet after voting visited a bit with the election staff and a couple of voters.

Great news. The little girl missing in Western Australia has been found alive and well. 4 year old Cleo Smith was abducted in the middle of the night from her parents tent while they were camping. She was found 75 klm away in Carnarvon in a house. Police raided at 1.00 am and arrested a man. Ongoing investigations. She had been missing for 18 days.

Don sometimes common sense gets thrown out and we over regulate. Safety is very important but so is common sense. Just my two cents worth

Yea, I like it back when falling into the creek would have been a life lesson vs opportunity to sue someone.

Gee Drew, missed an educational opportunity

29° right now...high in the mid-40's today...

Finally got my haircut!
Also, put up the bird feeder....this one will work this year, but I want to get something more robust for next winter. Biggest problem is the lack of a stabilizing auger which screws in to the ground, then there are 4 smaller prongs. The one I bought has the prongs, but no auger. Rather then try to explain this in more depth, easier if you look this up. It is nice watching the birds feed...and we have humming bird feeders for when they're around (all migrated south by this time)

Technically, I was on vacation the last 2 days, but now I'm back to work...but still working from home...

Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 46° with sun then partly cloudy skies in late afternoon. Got fence taken down yesterday. Used tractor to pull fence out of weeds, shrubs and trees that had grown around it for almost 50 years. It is still laying in field. Found a old Craftsman Planer on FB Marketplace. Went checked it out. It had not been used very much. Bought it. Seller and I hauled it out of his basement. That this is heavy. Need to go back and pick up a small table saw that came with planer today. If I survive getting table saw out of basement will roll up old fence and haul out of field.
Been slow at feeders lately because I cut back on how much was in feeders. This got rid of all the Cowbird's that have been running other birds away.

RNG, picture is from a week ago. Have not seen any since. I let feeders go empty. This stopped most birds from coming except for those that will eat suet.

Don and David, great dog pictures.

Alien, great news on little girl. Great sky picture.

Drew, I need a haircut. Just need to feel like getting it done. I is not in my eyes yet. But close.

Popgadget, my bench looks like yours. When it to cold to work outside it may get cleaned up.

Chris, good buck picture.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
brrrrrr, 33 degrees out

Toppop, good post. Thankfully my school is a K-8 and I miss most of the politics.
But first question I asked when on the board was when was the last time we reviewed what history
we teach and updated text books. Gratified to hear they were right on top of it.
School spends enormous time and effort on DEI, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Kids are taught to respect
and love each other as equals. And in our lily white community we have been successful in attracting children of color and
different economic means. Not easy to do because most private schools are hunting in the same area for new students and admin.

I spent an hour last night watching one of those educational videos explaining how most of the world had slaves at one point, up to a third of Rome were slaves..., and
there was a slow transition from slavery to serfdom in Europe. The haves have a poor track record of abusing the have nots, but that's our world history.
So while slavery is a shameful part of the American past, it was also pretty common throughout the world. And many freed slaves went directly into serfdom.
The haves need manpower to grow the food and build the products, so first it was the slaves and then the serfs. Sounds like a prelim story on why unions came about...

not heading south til about 8:30am so plenty of time to putter and get house ready for leaving. I will set the thermostat down to 64 and probably should turn the water off outside.

assuming my laptop fires up, should be back on line this afternoon. Headed out the turnpike and then down route 15. Decided if I can avoid Rt 95 for the rest of my life, that would be just fine...of course I have to drive on 95 tomorrow to get to NC. Got my Ezpass updated so I'm ready to cruise. I wonder how much my mpg will improve. Currently sitting
at a dismal 16.2

36 and surprisingly foggy. First snow up in the mountains on the West Virginia side.

Buppies, sorry you're sick. We stayed up late watching returns, too. Proud Virginian :) . Nice to have an end to so many candidates' commercials...many were just negative and untruthful.

Rip, I fired up our woodstove for the first time this year yesterday, too. Brought firewood in during the light rain, but it stayed dry.

We voted, got our booster shots, then went to eat lunch at a real nice Chinese restaurant...then realized how ironic.

Ron, sounds like you worked pretty hard yesterday on that fence. I love watching nuthatches.

Baseball season is over. Congrats to the Atlanta Braves. Sorry, Houston.
