Sorry to hear it Robby. There's a special place in heaven for our furry best friends.

Rest assured your 'best friend' is waiting for you on the other side. Lost our Rocky Dog 4 1/2 years ago, and I still cry when I think of him... which is almost everyday.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I really dread when that day comes for our German shepherd. He is 5 3/4 years old in human years now so hopefully we will have him for several more years, but just thinking about it hurts. It will be like loosing a child.

Sorry for the loss of your love one...sure can put the heart strings...cherish the memories.

You undoubtedly will swear to never have another dog because they don't last a long time and it hurts when they die. And then in a year or two or three you'll get another dog...My experience anyway. Treasure the memories.

My thoughts are with you. I've lost some good friends, too. The pain is real, but subsides in time. The memories won't and will give you joy. Peace be with you.

My condolences, Robby. Our solution when we lost Jake to Cancer at tha age of 7 1/2 years was to wait a while, and then we got Jasper, who was Jake's grand nephew on one side, and great grand nephew on the other side. This may not work for some , but for us it was almost as if Jake never left!

Sorry for your loss, It's never easy to deal with

I know this is hard to think of right now, but you can squelch that hurt and get another best friend NOW. Do it. We did after a 13 year friendship came to an end. Healed our hearts almost immediately. Instead of us being sad and that feeling never leaving, we now hold those days as great memories and comparison’s never stop.

That's the hardest part about keeping a dog.
Might not seem like it right now Rob, but you're a lucky man.
You had a great companion for a long time.
It takes a while to get used to not having your friend but you can be thankful for time you shared with your dog.
You're a better person for it.

Sorry for your loss, I lost my best friend 3 years ago. I held her till the end, and I will never forget her.

We are just now thinking about a rescue. I hope she is waiting at the rainbow bridge, cause that's the first place i'm going.

Take what HE taught you and put it to good use with the next one, when he comes. We waited for near a year out of respect to our buddy Zip, we learned that (for us), it was just silly. A new pup is good medicine for the heart and certainly does not replace your lost friend but sure does start the healing.
