If I'm persistent then you are equally evasive.
I agree it should be 100%.
I just went out with the intention of weighing a single and dual lid of the same size. We literally do not have a single and a dual lid of the same size sitting here.

When some inventory builds up and I get some time, I will get it done. I've been here since 5 this morning to catch up with emails and the phone starts ringing around 7.
6 lines stay packed most of the day with 3 salesmen and 1 parts man constantly on it. We are overwhelmed.

30, 40, or 50 pounds even, I do not think, will affect a person's decision of single vs. dual, but you will get your wish.

Aren't you a cad guy? If your models are accurate, then give those weights...

Of course, that doesn't help with the time issues. I have those too.

25 hours, 8 days a week, 13 months outta year... (anybody recognize those old school rap lyrics).

I prefer real time brass tacks, welding included. If you look at the construction of one wider, braced up single lid, it is pretty equivalent to two from a dual lid model mashed together.

Yes, an extra cylinder with the fittings and hoses does weigh 18 pounds, so I'll give him that.

Yes, tractor info will be great. Wrong page though, Cat....
Here's what he has: Construction Attachments XTreme Duty Root Grapple For Skid Steers and Larger Tractor Loaders
It looks like a 66", but I guessed 73" because of the # of tines.

66" weighs 862 pounds.
73" weighs 956 pounds.

Dang this thread blew up quick!! Work really gets in the way of things I want to do!

Wow, that's at about 362 lbs heavier than my 72" dual lid!! As much as I don't sweat the last few pounds, with his tractor I would have to trade up to properly sized compact Wicked with lid count of choice.

If I weighed my 72" dual on certified scales would everyone (Travis,IT) accept the weight as valid? Mine is wet so it will be an actual using weight. I won't be offended if either won't accept the weight. It just takes a bit of time to load the tractor/grapple and haul it to the scales.

Black would be fine and easier to repaint years down the road.. How long is the wait on one of these?

Sure. I'd believe anyone who bothered to weigh them.

I feel bad about hassling Travis but EA publishes weights and we don't know if they are real or guesstimates. Ten or twenty pounds isn't going to matter to anyone but as weight differences get up towards 100 lbs they should be considered by midsize tractor owners with loaders that lift under 2000lbs. 100lbs hanging 18" or so in front of the pivot points is a valid consideration when choosing between a single wide lid vs dual narrow lids.

I'd assumed that they weigh most grapples as they ship them as shippers generally charge by weight and size so thought Travis had the data handy.

20 yrs ago who'd a thought that photo of the 60" dual lid grapple would "turn me on"?

It must be the big lids and wide bottom you are attracted to :D

Thanks for the pictures.. Im leaning towards the 66" Dual lid version. Do they only come in black or can you get them in Kubota Orange also?

Bet you wax your tractor too! Black works fine.

I did spend over an hour tonight washing the muck of the L39, as I sadly had to cross some wetland to find a spot to dig a grave of a young cow.

If you send me one I'd weigh it on 4 different sets of scales, post cool picture, and destruction test it. How could you beat an offer like that?

What a deal. When space is available for another sales associate here at EA, i'll definitely put in a good word for ya!

I have an ideal timeline, scheme of events, for woody if I had the ability to lay it all out like a fairy tale(I don't, but can't we dream a bit?)....

To start...
Use the grapple for a while. You're obviously going to LOVE having a grapple! We can all wholeheartedly agree on this without a doubt.
I mean, it sounds like you got a good deal on this beastly chunk of steel, which shares the same basic geometry as our Wicked. For those who don't know, Ted's brother owns CA so we know those grapples VERY well.

You can throw it on the L45 and take out any frustrations on it imaginable. The grapple will remain in it's current state of condition.
Hook it up and simply ride around with it installed, noting the difference in having the grapple installed vs. the regular GP bucket. It will be noticeable and i'm not talking about the Big Man ego kick you'll experience right off the bat!

Here's a pic I took on our dock a while back.

Shipping weights are going to include pallets and straps... Wood is enough of a variable it wouldn't be accurate. As you stated, close is only good enough for those with high loader capacities and if taking the time out to do it, do it right...

I can tell you from experience how easily website data can be outdated. I'm sure as new models and designs were added, they were accurate for the time. As changes get made, new models get added, etc., the older stuff gets farther and farther from the specs listed. Sometimes the only thing to do is put a group of orders through and let the line build what you need to update specs on and rotate it into stock after weights are taken.
