2017 LS XR4140HC
Hello to all the other owners / members out there. We just ordered our first compact diesel tractor this week. We are getting a 2017 LS XR3135HC with loader, pallet forks, front mount snow blower and a rear finish mower. We are in the process of relocating from a house with 2/3 of an acre to a rural lake home with 4+ acres and two large driveways to take care of.

I wanted to introduce myself and thank members of this site for posting excellent information. Reading many threads on this forum has been invaluable ......for our decision on tractor and attachments.....thank you all!

Thank you all for the warm welcome to the forum.....it's greatly appreciated!

I'm really looking forward to the new equipment and further opportunities to learn from members of this site. This is a big jump up from my JD LX 289 that I've been using for the past 13 years.

Wayne's World is a bit crazy at the moment. New job......living in temporary housing for a month.....separated from family until we close on our house at the end of July. Other than that......Life is goodšŸ˜ŠšŸ‘.

Sorry about the separation, I know how that is. Is the new job a step up?

Well......technically a lateral move.......but for us.....it's a chance to slow down for the last few years of our careers. So......we went for a lake place with the thoughts of retirement, hopefully grandkids and having a place for family and friends to visit.

But a guy needs proper tools to take care of a place with acreage. So.....after searching this and other sites I decided on the LS tractor. A very close second was a Kioti followed by a Branson.

I agree with the "proper tools" as I could not get much done without mine. The older I get, the more I need the "proper tools."

I think that's a part of "Growing Wiser" as we get older. Seems I relied on brute force when younger.....now, with Atrthur-itis setting in all over...I have to work smarter. Also, time seems to be at a premium......so efficiency is greatly appreciated these days.

Welcome! To fellow South Dakotan. I grew up about 200 miles west of where you are at.

Congrats on the moves! A lot of changes. That tractor should work out very well for you - it will be a fun toy!

Well.......from all the wonderful wealth of information here.....we've decided to "Up" our choice of tractors. We are going to go with the XR4140HC, just changed the order this afternoon. I decided the beefier front axle and dual steering rams would probably be in our best interest. Evidently we don't have a snow removal service for our private road. The current owners of our house have taken that upon themselves. So......if I need to make sure we have a clear path from our house......it's going to be a much greater task than simply taking care of our two driveways. I know more HP would probably be better....but I have to keep the spending in check
