We have been using the crap out of this trailer now for about a year. Hauling water tanks, firewood and produce across 5 acres and it has held up to the task with no issues other than a slow leak in one tire last week. I ended up drilling a hole in the front of the bed and bolted the bed to the chassis as we rarely use it as a dump trailer. Hope your's holds up well as our's has JerryK.

I plan on fixing mine so it will not dump, too. If and when I do want to dump, I am going to add a hyd cyl off my rear remote. They sell a 4' by 8' trailer or cart that is set up for the hyd cyl, but it had steel ends and I wanted a cart that I can see thru the end gate when not loaded with wood. Have a GREAT day..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have to agree on the black. It would look pretty sharp. I should have done that, but the wife liked the red to match the Mahindra.

I am adding thick washers to the walking beam axle [ add reasons and pictures when I get to welding that area up ], since I have an old used longer axle than they supplied. I am boring out the holes for the stock 1/2" bed pivot rod so I can use the surplus 3/4" axle as a heavier rod in that position......

Put the subframe onto the trailer bed [ upside down ] to do final stuff. Tomorrow I am going to clean up, maybe start painting then or Tuesday. I will mod the walking beams while the paint is drying....

Now to the walking beams..... I ground the side off four 1/4" thick 3/4" washers so they would fit into the walking beam upright channel iron. I am going to weld these onto the walking beams to add to the 3/16" thick stock surface. This is where I think the wear will be and do not see the shaft with the new grease able tubes being much more use than maybe forcing grease out here where the real work is being done. First picture is one of the modified washers, the second is the washers being held in alignment so I can weld them in place via a big 3/4" Unbreako bolt. Anywhilst, I think this is needed.... and should make the whole shebang last as long as I will...... :)

Final coat of paint. Have not finished the tongue yet, waiting for the 1526 to come so I can recheck height and length. Bought a 2" stainless ball to put on the drawbar. Most of the stuff I have to pull use the 2" ball.... May leave the side rails red.....

Hey Guys,

We've been off on vacation and traveling, etc, etc and not been able to excess TBN. Your rebuild looks good. One thing different we did was when we rebuilt the walking beam 3/4 pins. You welding in washers, where as we installed 3/4 locking collars to hold those walking beam pins static. Most of what you've done is very similar to our repairs.

Yah, that makes sense. I plagiarized as much as your build as I could. The walking beams really should be on separate 3/4" shafts so they could move separate of each other. Welcome back...!!! Used to spend a lot of vacation time up there with our Finish friends up in the Kewanaw. Feeding the skeeters and horseflies, looking for coppers, digging in the old Calumet dump..... :)

Jerry, Seems you are asking about the 2x2x.250 angle we added just behind the walking beam support plates. This runs 90 degrees from the trailers front/back. This was to help the sub-frame for bowing while under heavy loads and no relation to us using the trailers dump feature.

This trailer was really under built in my book.

Howdy..!!! I just ordered a trailer similar to yours, but has a 7' X 4' bed with metal sides [ 7740UTV-BR ]. I stumbled onto your rebuild, and will mod mine / paint it before I assemble it, My one question is why you added the brace on the side of the channel iron between the walking beam plate and the vertical angle the bed pivot on??? [ picture #1 of the frame upside down ] I do not plan on making mine tilt and will fix the bed in place. Basically going to use mine for firewood/out in the woods behind a tractor....

That's why I thought i would do your mods before putting mine together when I bought it. I don't need it to carry dirt/gravel, just firewood. I have been looking at these type trailers on and off for several years when I stumbled on your rebuild posts. Bought me one to help gather/haul wood/ etc... All YOUR fault...... :) I might put a hyd cyl in mine to dump someday, but don't see me needing it right now.

Jerry, you do know that ours has the hydraulic jack option? For hauling gravel as we do, that has been a real labor saver....

Speak of under built. County is a very small company and when I called them about the jack failing, (they sent a us a new one for free) I was speaking with the owner who said we should let them know how the trailer works for us. I never did let them know that we wore the walking beam out in one summer. Or that we bent the box frame......

We used a tractor, but the problem is the tractor loads at the pit, so its not at the dump location. I'll attach a few photos of no real value.:)

Here is a few recent photos of this trailer in action. This is a 16ft 6x6 we retrieved today and you may note, the trailer hitch was modified so as to be lengthened for hauling longer pieces like this.
