1°F this morning with clear skies, going up to 27° today. Brrrr!!! Supposed to be around 40° here the rest of the week.

Boss sent everyone home early Friday, as a freezing rain event popped up right before the evening drive time. What a mess. People in the St. Louis area don't drive well on dry pavement. Throw in some frozen precip and ... well ... I left work at 4:30, and finally got home at 9:50. Kind of set the tone for the whole weekend for me, unfortunately. I got a whole lot of nothing done.

Good morning again. I decided to get another "sleep" in before Christmas and since the temperature fell to 21˚ and it was still dark a little 6-8 am nap was nice. (after waking up at 3am to feed the fire and animals)

Up and to work now, one of my trees is blocking the county road after it was blown over by the wind. It looks like someone went in the ditch going around it and the some one drug it so it only half blocks the road. It's a cedar tree so no firewood to harvest.

The "LOW AIR" symbol on my truck came on, I thought I had a flat but all tires were 28 psi (supposed to be 35psi). I guess the 60˚ drop in temperature in a day will do that to tire pressure.

I burn cedar, just not all at once. A nice log or two into the stove, nice and hot, nice smell. Seasoned of course. Burns for a good while.

Good Morning! 36F @ 7:00AM. Partly cloudy. High 52F. Winds light and variable.

Chilly here this AM, both inside and out. Down to 65F in the house, and I woke up with cold ears.:laughing: Wood stove is taking its time firing up, and I'm thinking a hot cuppa tea would be nice with breakfast this morning. But at least there's no snow on the ground, and the morning sky is full of pink tinged clouds and lots of blue. Slight chance of showers tomorrow, but it looks like Friday before any real rain enters the forecast. But clearing for Christmas.

And speaking of Christmas, it just wouldn't be Christmas without screening "A Christmas Story", which I did last night. Funny how it hits so many themes from my own childhood, even though I came along twenty years after the time of the story. 'Cept I never had a Red Ryder, and never even came close to shootin' my eye out.:laughing:

Thanks Ed, I left my wife at the hospital with her brother, she was going over his charts,(computer screen), and his doctor was rolling his eyes. I left the 2 docs to fight it out and told Richard he was in good hands.

70 yesterday, 30 today, big uptake. Buppies, it all sounds good except the cold wet spring.

15 here this morning, warming trend next few days, winds to 40mph. Tuesday it is supposed to be 38F so may loose our snow.

Local high end steak house had a special yesterday (using up the cuts that don't make their perfect standards). Wife and I enjoyed nice steaks, split salad and desert, still ate too much. It was very good and we agreed we would go back.

It's funny Ron, I have 6-7 friends that are doctors and only 2 of them I met through my wife's practice. The others were when I was into off shore boats, old cars and that kind of stuff. I have lawyer friends, too. I find it works out better to have friends with more money and connections than me. That way I'm mooching off them instead of the other way around!

69°F and no rain since midnight but 2.33 inches yesterday.

Very good time at neighbors yesterday.
Wife has ENT appoint this afternoon in Hilo, her first. She has an ear that blocks from time to time
