:) I tried mightily not to, but failed.

Failing is not so bad. Whats that they always say.....Edison failed ~2000 times inventing the light bulb

Plotman- I too have a 2015 Kubota L3301, same wheelbase as your 3901. Do you have your rear tires watered (filled to 75% capacity)? I too have nearly tipped mine over with a fully loaded FEL. My salesman tells me I need more weight on the rear (ie box Blade or whatever you can hang on the rear hydraulic lift arms).
The L4701 has a bit more wheelbase length than ours do which should give more stability. If I had the funds available I would have gone with the M-series (bigger frame, taller, plus more...).

I too am very annoyed with the HST system being so noisy. I've got 68 hrs on my "K" and I can only notice a minute change in noise but not enough to really make a difference. Now, how long it will take to quiet down the HST Tranny, if it will quiet down) I don't know. Maybe some of the other owners can lend some information on this subject. My question is this, do the other manufacturers have the same problems with their HST systems?

If you are lifting heavy stuff with the FEL, you absolutely need something on the 3PH for weight. Something in the 750-1000# range is a good start. Otherwise, you cannot use the loader to its fullest potential.

I have a B7800 HST that was noisy at first. When I changed the fluid I used Deere HyGard just because I had it and it was still noisy. I didn't know that it shouldn't be noisy. Then I switched to Kubota SUDT and it is noticeably quieter and I think it's has become quieter as time went on. It certainly seems quieter than when it was new.

Yep:

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931)

Another good: "Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing." - Wernher Von Braun (1912-1977)

I find I sure have done a lot of research.:)

I leave my BH on all the time unless I need to use the rake or box blade. I do any loader work with the BH on for its weight. While I don't have the HST, I still wear my WorkTunes and listen to radio. Listening to the radio is less fatiguing.

I also have the L3901 HST with loaded AG tires and initially found it substantially more tippy than my old L2205 gear drive. Widening the tires out have made quite a difference.
In reference to the whine; I had a hard time getting used to it but usually have hearing protection on anyway. Regardless, the benefit of the HST over my gear tractor more than compensates for me. You gotta do what is right for you as you have a chunk of money riding on those four tires.:tractor::sarcastic:

Just curious, were you able to test drive at the dealership before you took delivery?

Deerslayer can you send pictures that show how you have your tires set to be at the widest.

Thanks
