since so many of us own Kubotas, I'll add to the filter cost discussion. Filter very high quality, metal mesh and reinforcing rubber, made in Germany (Mann?) and looks like something that would cost twenty or thirty bucks. Messicks has it for apparent list, 79.95; I got five bucks off at my local Kubota parts counter. But lo and behold, someone seems to make a cross reference: has the same look but so far not vetted

now I don't know who makes luberfiner filters and if you tell me they are importing something cheap from China, well...but unlikely. Why doesn't Stens make a comparable filter? The Luberfiner filter does not look like it has the metal mesh, so this is not apples to oranges but unknown. Aah the half price allure...
I am NOT, however, putting the equivalent of a Harbor Freight filter on my expensive tractor.
Not for a filter I only need to change once a year with my use. Very little mowing.
Clean oil, clean air, clean fuel and the diesel will likely outlast ten of me.
A Wix from Napa would do just fine. No such luck.
I've been looking up replacement parts for this possible new addition. Very plentiful and reasonable.
Still....that like new Massey sitting with its shiny paint in the dealer lot continues to have appeal.
I could easily spend five grand fixing something major inside this old tractor, and then I'd be right at the cost of the
almost new one. Hmmmmm.
