Would a fire damage cast rear wheel centers?

I'm looking at mail order buying some cast rear wheel centers that have been slightly though a fire. There is some singe and black on maybe 15% of the edge. They weigh on the order of 600 to 700 lbs each. Would fire have damaged them any?

Extremely unlikely that heat to singe paint would cause a problem. Cast iron is quite stable.

I agree - if they still have original paint on them - they really didn't get that hot. Wow - a 600# wheel center is a massive amount of cast iron.

If I get them, how do you suppose I put them on or should I hire it out? They might be 650lbs--I'll have to check.

You have 6 tractors listed in your profile. If any of 5 are equipped with a FEL and NOT the recipient, I don't see any reason to hire installation unless you just don't want to do the work.

Could use the 3pt with a pig pole if you don't have a loader available.
Possibly an engine hoist if you have access to one?

No pole but an engine hoist would work and I have one. That's now my plan if I can get the weights at a fair price.
