As far as developing a banking relationship with Chase:

The experience at Chase was... weird. Each time I was met at the door by a just out of high schooler in badly fitting shirt and tie, then paired with a "banker". The first was just older than the greeter, and similarly clothed, who tried to make small talk that just came off as condescending. The second time, same greeter, but the next banker was a woman who appeared to be in her late 30s to mid 40s (how do you tell?) dressed in a business suit that flattered her figure. Not exactly appropriate bank attire, but who am I to complain? Both bankers seemed overwhelmed by the computer systems they were using, both punctuating their wrestling matches with excuses and frequent visits with someone else to get help. I wasn't at all impressed with the web interface for the Chase banking software, and when asked why I was closing the accounts, used that as an excuse. But the real reason is that it was the same clueless experience I'd been having with BofA, and I have no desire to continue in that direction with a different bank that sat in the same parking lot.

I'm thinking about just using the checking facilities at my brokerage house, but how do I cash checks and what am I supposed to use for a safe deposit box?

Good morning all. 80F this morning, scattered clouds in west some with rain. Have a forecast for 99F and 15% rain chance this morning. Last 2 days forecast was under 100 and actual temps were over. Real rain chances coming next weekend. Today's TMA include bike with a group, finish mow and weedeat, and more consulting.

I live far enough north in MD to hear a lot at my house. I haven't let any fly in awhile, need to buy more.

Ron, yes the flail was new in Feb this year.
Told my wife, I wish I had down this mowing idea with my old flail before I sold it. I still worked fine, just racked a bit from catching an albizia root. Even still had the original belts.

Don, sure understand your concern, but no easy answer. When my MIL lived alone, we got her a Great Call button and put the app on her iPhone, figuring she'd always be covered. Not her!!! The one time she felt she was just making a quick trip to her mailbox so had neither.

73 this morning and headed to 88 today. Currently 85. Around an inch of rain yesterday.

I've got to put some creosote on the chicken coop floors today and then work on the remodeling jobs.

Eric. We're up and down all night. Our newest is an eater. Every 2-3 hours. But I'm of minimal use in that department. I help get situated then I go back to sleep. .

Don. Maybe some Physical Therapy on how to get up and they're also doing PT now where they teach how to fall to minimize injury.

RNG, color looks like the 68 Vette I had that was International Blue. I liked that color.
Have you considered a Credit Union. I am very happy with ours. They work every place that we have traveled.
Don, I spent 10 years doing my mothers repairs. Always felt good when the jobs were competed. Her smiles were the best payment. She had a emergency call button that she wore all the time. But never used it in a emergency. It's a desire to remain independent.
DavidS, maybe some Kevlar belts should be on order when you figure what size they are.
Buckeye, one of my favorite things is food (smell) being cooked outside.

Don Looks like a little of the right kind of cloth and a sewing machine would make the bags and a shop vac would provide the blow.
My mom laughs about falling and says she never got hurt. Mother-in-law falls from time to time and panics. My wife can't get her up because she is so busy trying to help.

Ed, we got your rain storm...hard rain right now. Ran me in from mowing, but got most of what was planned done after playing a DVR recorded John Wayne movie for my FIL and me to watch while the ladies went $hopping..."Sons of Katie Elder" for you other Westerns fans. Recorded it off of AMC, a couple of weeks ago, so every commercial was for the **** on Wheels finale...I already really miss that show.

Don, sorry to hear about your mom. Hope it won't happen again.

Drew, if I ever have to sell my place and move away, I'd like to think I could come back one day and visit, but not many folks are as kind as you to host the previous owners.

Buckeye, nice set up for camping...I can smell those sausages in my mind.

Don't forget yer summer wear and sun block; it's gonna be HOT! And forget about tastin' and drivin', the CHP loves the income generated by DWI stops. Sip'n'spit! The Hydro in Calistoga has good food and a fun atmosphere, Cafe Sarafornia also in Calistoga has an awesome breakfast burrito and good lattes.

RNG, thanks for the suggestions. We had a great breakfast at Sarafornia Tuesday morning on our way to visit Sterling. Saw the Hydro Grill next door but, we were gone from Calistoga before next meal time.





Lunch at Brix on Monday. It's between Rutherford and St. Helena. They grow all their own vegetables behind their building.
