Good morning!!!!

Ed, the funny part is I really did have to pick up my house once;
raised one end of the kitchen about an inch using floor jacks and new pillars underneath.
But not today. More like making one big pile out of more smaller piles...I'm a piler, not a filer.
And since I live alone I have no one to yell at me...

Actually my house is pretty neat and my housecleaners constantly kid me about it, and thank me. They come every two
weeks and my luck it's this coming Monday, after vs before, so if I'm going to have this nice lady wander through my house checking out
what I've changed, needless to say I want to get the spaghetti sauce off the microwave, etc. I crank up the stereo and clean, not a burden.
With my dinner guest coming I have to do that anyway. Time to get a move on.

So you all have a nice morning while I put my little lace cleaning hat on and fluff doilies. not

Good morning! 74˚ heading to 101˚ sunny day.

Yesterday while I was working at my parents my mom fell working in her flower garden. She did not hurt herself but she could not get up without my help. I was thinking there should be a device my Dad could use to get her up when I not available so they would not have to call someone. I found one, but they of course will say they don't need it, especially for $2K. ELK - Emergency Lifting Cushion by Mangar
Another option is PT and learn how to maneuver with maybe a chair or something brought to her.

72 right now...heading up to 84 today. Other then a bit of weed trimming, no other plans in particular. Probably run down the field sometime today and do some plinking. I haven't fired .22's in years and forgot how much fun it is. So, the 10/22, the SR22 and maybe a hundred or so rounds...
This also depends if the wifey intends to draft me for any chores or activities.

Good Morning! 61F @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High near 90F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Buppies, I'd suggest holding a finger under your nose if you feel like you're going to sneeze, but that would probably hurt, too!:( Have you tried Guns for Sale - Online Gun Auction - Buy Guns at GunBroker.com or GunsAmerica - Buy Guns and Sell Guns Online for your Hornet?

Nothing's ever simple, is it Don? Especially when it comes to old houses and aging parents. You're a good son taking such good care of them!

Yeah, Kyle, it's a lot of sanding. But the more I do the less there is to do. At least that's what I keep telling myself. I suspect the bodyman is about to take my sanding experience to a whole new level when he shows me how to "block a panel" this weekend. It's also becoming clear that each seam on the body must be resealel once it is primed, then primed again, and yes, sanded!

David S., we have a shop called Bearing, Belt & Chain here that's always been able to match whatever belt or pulley I wander in with. Same with, wait for it, bearings and chains, too. Their main clientele are the farmers and ranchers in the valley, so they have a very large stockpile to draw from (time is money for most of those folks). And speaking of money, don't bother trying to use your VISA card. They do things the old fashioned way: cash only. But maybe there's a similar shop over there? In any case, if you solve the puzzle, please share the secret, as someday I'll have to replace my belts as well...

Nothing colder than a cold hearted woman. 'Nuff said.

Eric, try some Cold-Ez (zinc lozenges) to ward off a potential cold. Used them all the time when I was traveling by airplane, and had good luck with staying healthy while all around me were sick.

Went to use the microwave yesterday morning and the lower end of the door handle came loose. The plastic boss that holds it on had broken, so it's out in the shop full of Brownell's Acraglass Gel waiting on me to drill a new hole in it. If it's not one thing, it's another...

Get yer shootin' in early, Roy, before the honey do list gets pulled out of the drawer.

Swapped out the tip on the spray gun yesterday to something larger that is more appropriate for the van, then shot a test panel with the stratos blue color. Between the new tip and the translucent nature of the paint, I didn't get it on very evenly and that was alarmingly apparent on the first coat. The second coat helped, but the streaking is still apparent in the finished job. Really gonna have to be on my toes to avoid a mess, and it's making me nervous. Regardless, if you like blue, and I do, I don't know where you'd find a brighter blue than this one. If you remember the late '60s Cameros, this is one of the colors it came with. I was hoping for something a bit lighter, and the pearl isn't very obvious, either, so I may opt for a slightly different formulation that uses a finer metallic.

The feeder outside the bedroom door is empty and the hummers are chittering their displeasure, Wng. Better get my lazy butt up and fill them.

RNG, nice blue! Almost a Ford Grabber Blue
Don, sorry your Mom fell, must be a constant worry for you. My folks both died early,
but had this issue with elderly inlaws, including a FIL who wound up with Parkinson's dementia and finally died
from it. I think most old folks don't want to be a bother. Reality is less worry equals less bother, and wearing an emergency
transmitter might be the best idea, if she won't go for the chair lift. Christmas is coming...

74.3F and sunny @ 09:45 ... high will supposedly be 83F and considerably less humid. No rain materialized last night ... next opportunity will be around Tuesday or Wednesday ... if the forecast holds up. Need to check the static water level in the well.

Getting regular visits from a hummingbird now ... split about half and half between the feeder and The Woman's flowers. Dunno if he's local or just passing through.

Finally correctly identified a woodpecker that I had previously misidentified - thought it was a "red-headed woodpecker" ... turns out it was a northern flicker. Very handsome bird.

Vacuumed off the filter for the shop vac last night and then rinsed it. It had been used over at the center to pick up concrete and drywall dust and was pretty caked up. It's the original paper cartridge filter and is getting pretty old ... might head over to Lowes or The Depot and pick another one. Supposedly Shop Vac has a new one that is made out of Gortex that is very durable, filters well, and easy to clean.

When I went up to shop last night around 23:00 to close up the thermometer was showing the temp as 72F ... actually felt kinda chilly. Shut off the AC and within 10 minutes the temp had bounced back up to 76F. Takes a lot to remove the heat from all the mass in the building.

Have to change the oil in The Woman's car today. Need to clear a path so I can get it into the garage.

Then mebbe some more clean up, up in the shop.

Now I need to make a lunch that's ok for diabetics, have to do a little thinking about what to serve. Am going to make tuna salad, chicken salad, cottage cheese with fruit; just trying to avoid too much sugar and carbs. Apparently he isn't controlled well, shoots up into the 500's at times, not good. Know any easy to make desserts for a diabetic? I have a bunch of diabetic cook books in the kitchen, I am pre-diabetic and need to be careful... Normally I would chop up some fruit for dessert but that's full of sugar, natural or otherwise. Sure can't give him the brownies I'm making this morning for tonight's dessert.

Drew, when I was first starting to leave sugar behind, I used Lite {or sugar free if you can find it} Cool Whip, lite yogurt and sugar free jello to make frozen desserts. Just pick your flavor and match the jello and yogurt. Also make a pudding type dessert with yogurt, cool whip and sugar free pie and pudding filling. Both good on hot days.

RNG,

I like the blue.

Good Morning. 0935, partly cloudy, 81F with 85% humidity. Forecast high of 90F with 40% chance of thunderstorms today, and a low of 75F tonight.

Early day here at work. It's the free school supply event, and they were lined up at 0630 when I got to work, even though the doors didn't open up until 0800. I had a visistor waiting for me at my office door. A baby Copperhead. I stomped him. Luckily all the customers were still outside, so no one saw him. It's been a couple of weeks since we had any ferns brought in, their usual mode of transport into the building. Does that mean a mamma got in?

Congratulation Farmer.
All you guys under the weather, hope you feel better soon.

Have a good one,

Larro
