Someone Dented my pickup today.

I came out of the car wash and saw this massive ding in the side of the pickup which pushed the whole side of the cab in about 3 inches. I talked to the owner of the car wash and he showed me the surveillance footage and we determined it wasnt at his car wash. I geuss it happened while i had the pickup parked downtown and i was in the library. Whoever hit it left. without leaving any info. :thumbdown:a

I had that happen to me too. People don't care. Another time to a lesser extent, I was in my car parked, on the phone and someone pulled up next to me and the lady in the passenger seat opened her door hard against my car. I rolled down my window and "expressed" my concern. It didn't seem to matter to her.

A couple of years ago someone hit our VW Jetta in the drivers door and front fender $1500 damage no note no nothing. People do not respect other people's property. Car was parked by the way

Yeah, feel your pain. I posted a thread exactly the same about this years ago. Seems most of us have had it happen, or a lot of us anyway. I have gotten to the point where I really don't care how my truck looks. I buy used work trucks now as it seems inevitable that either I or someone else will ding dang dent them up. Too bad if you have a nice truck that some fool wasn't man enough to fess up and pay for the repairs.

I was sitting in my parked car when it was hit Both the driver,in his sixties, and his wife, in her four ties, were certain they had not hit my car. They were only convinced when I showed them the dent and my paint on their bumper. They seemed genuine in their denials of being in accident.

A guy in NH backed into me, then tried to talk me out of exchanging papers for an insurance claim. His truck had many dents so he must have been a "Frequent Flier."

Yes, a couple years ago I noticed a couple new dings on the top of the tailgate of my pickup. Could not figure where they came from and like everybody else, pretty upset that nobody would fess up. About a month after that I noticed a familiar color paint on the underside of my FEL arms. Life goes on.

I've had the same thing happen a couple times. 1st was back in 2005. Had a brand new truck 1 week old. Parked in the parking garage at work figuring it would be safe. Came out a couple hours later to find the bed of the P/U dented in behind the RR tire. No cameras in the garage. Looked around at a few cars for evidence of my paint on their bumpers but with hundreds of cars on different levels I'd have been there all day. Cost to repair was just over my deductible.
2nd time was about a year ago on my 2013 truck. I have a dent in the LF fender about 6" in front of the mirror. Looks like someone took a ball peen hammer and whacked it. I have no idea where it happened or how or what could have caused that as high up as it is.
Hate it when someone damages your property and doesn't own up to it.

At the high school where I taught a textbook salesman hit a car in the faculty parking lot . He drove away not saying a word . What he didn 't know was a teacher saw it and immediately called the company with the story . Next day he returned with a big company check to be given to the car owner . I found out later he also got pink slipped .

I try to pick good places to park because of dirtbag hit and runners. I am usually 5-6 spaces away from everyone else, and I get my exercise walking to the store.

A few years ago I pulled into a mall and there was a truck parked in the middle of a bunch of open parking spots near the edge of the lot, so I parked one slot away from him. I came out of the store half hour later and everything was good until I got close to my car when I saw a 6" by 18" dent in the car door.

All I can figure is someone drove in between the car and truck and gave the pretty truck more room than he did to me.

Although improper I have been known to take a few spots near the edge of the lot. but not often. I feel guilty.

I'm pretty sure the FEL was responsible for making the side is my bed about 2" lower in the middle.

People have no integrity. I work for a very large financial services company and one day at the end of the day I watched an employee get into their car, put it in drive instead of reverse and proceed to hit the BMW in front of them. They got out, looked at the dent in the BMW, got back in their car and drove off. I wrote down both car's license plates and notified security of the incident the next morning. A couple days later I got a thank you email from the head of risk management. It was her BMW that had been hit. Needless to say, the employee was fired. Too bad, had they handled it properly and left a note, it would have been no big deal, just a minor accident. Lack of integrity cost that person their job.

I pulled thru a parking spot with a ford excursion at the local grocery store , this way I could just pull straight out . Its announced over the PA system " will the owner of the black suv with the plow come to the service desk " I go up there and the woman at the desk says my truck was in an accident and I need to go outside . I walk to my truck and a woman with her minivan parked behind me . Her plastic bumper is all racked up . I look , she drove into my weight distribution hitch . She then says " what are you going to do about this ? " So I looked at my hitch real hard and told her " well you did scratch the paint on the hitch , but I will let it slide "

This exactly why I park way out in a parking lot and walk a little further. The funny thing is I'll park way out in a parking lot away from cars and some jerk will park right next to me.lol

Probably told this story on here before, but I once parked in the outer region of a Walmart parking lot. No vehicles within 100 ft. at minimum. When I came out there was a airplane so close to the door I had to get in through the passenger door. Now before you really think I'm joking - the airplane was on a trailer being pulled by a large RV. He could have parked as far or further away from me as I did from everyone else - but didn't. ????
