15 inches on ground still snowing lightly and windy 19 degrees on the temperature. Busy day cleaning driveway. Terrible about loss of life in storms

21 this morning and headed to 30 today. Snows over and my best measurements show 8-9 inches. A lot of wind so hard to measure.

Plans for today are to plow out and then get back to the chicken coops. I didn't even try to work down there yesterday.

It's best to stay home in this weather unless it's an emergency. But I was surprised at how much traffic was on the road by the house. Well it was the usual ones running the roads.

8 headed to 23. Glad the storm is skirting past us. Watching the weather folks out on the streets can be entertaining. The woman on now is debating with herself whether or not the conditions in DC are a blizzard. Hope everyone stays safe.

It is 36 here with a high of 45 here. We have hard freeze warnings for the next couple of nights. I ***** and complain then I read all these posts about your weather and feel pretty good.

Our gas seems high compared as well, we are in the$1.98 - 2.01 area.

We have a whole house Generac that runs on propane. Had it installed when we built the house and it has saved a lot of grocery's in the freezer over the years with hurricanes.

Just seen the news. I-75 southbound in Kentucky is reported to be backed up 35 miles. Because of the snow. People on the road for more than 12 hours.

yeah those folks are getting clobbered, and now you have all those rescue vehicles trying to get around too, and getting stuck. I've driven fire trucks in the snow; the weight helps and lug tires in the back do too, but they aren't unstoppable. Several times had to wait for a county plow to run in front of the firetruck. Particularly up some steep hills.

my brother owns a CPA firm one mile from his house, down the same main road which is kept well plowed usually. But his over 55 community sure hadn't been plowed and he's stuck in there. Between now and April 15 he usually works 7 days a week. I think he's nuts but his business is large and well respected. He just works his tail off at it and is finally thinking about retiring. So he doesn't have to try to push snow to get to work anymore.

Yes, stay home. Not the time for lookey lous to come out.

Research triangle is getting clobbered and many hundreds of accidents
recent accident reports:

Charlotte, NC - 218
Greensboro-High Point-Winston Salem, NC - 141
Greenville-New Bern-Washington, NC - 16
Raleigh-Durham, NC - 176
Wilmington, NC - 31

The Charlotte police dept must be pulling their hair out. I bet half those accidents are SUVs whose drivers either thought they were immortal or
had a truly inadequate appreciation of the lack of friction they were dealing with. Fancy way of saying they were terrible winter drivers...

Good morning! 28˚ no snow, no clouds. Might get to 55˚ today. The North East sounds like a bunker down weekend. I wonder how many people are just refusing to let weather spoil their weekend and how many have jobs they must get to for public safety.

Eric, I thought large herds of sheep are always on the road like the tv shows, you know, like here in Texas we all ride horses and have shoot-outs every day. No, no we have utility vehicles with ________ guns, not pretty silver pistols with ivory handles.

Good Morning! 49F @ 6:30 AM. Light rain early...then remaining cloudy with showers in the afternoon. High 54F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 80%.

Got a couple of tenths of rain overnight, 3/4" yesterday. The lake is up about 50' from the low, half of that in the last 10 days. We'll get a break in the weather for the next several days, then just a chance of light showers. Still have almost 200' to get to the top of the dam.

Gas and Diesel tax here is about $.35/gal. but our wonderful legislature is trying to push through another $.12/gal. We're already paying nearly twice what everyone else is in the country, and "officials" are crying that our road infrastructure is falling apart. Seems to me all that shows is how poorly the highway department is being managed, and makes me wonder why we should trust them with even more money? And on top of that, Governor Moonbeam wants to spend billions on a bullet train that doesn't go anywhere near where people need to go. Crazy is the only word that comes to mind.

Have a great weekend everyone.
