I like those firewood pallets Roger.

I was thinking of making something like that, but instead of making it to lift with the forks on the front, make it so it's held up off the ground 4" or so like yours are, but leave the middle open, so I could slide under it with the grapple tines and lift it with the grapple instead. Since I almost never have my front forks on unless I'm moving pallets of lumber, it would be a lot more useful if I could lift it with the grapple open.
Only thing I haven't checked yet is if the grapple clamps would get in the way, even when open, but since they open pretty far, I could simply adjust the height of my stacks to allow room.

Edit: Do you guys think that would work?

Thanks about my pallets.

You are going to need pallet with an opening of at least 66.'' I think it would take a strong pallet to support the weight wood on the pallet over 66.'' I say take the grapple off or use rear forks with standard pallets.

We're all so jealous we don't even talk to Xfaxman any more.
If your jealous of the V417, this is what I started with over 30 years ago.

My first Front End Loader on a garden tractor, setting by the road, for sale in November 2005.

I towed it from the storage shed with my soon to be second FEL.

I guess I could add a single lid to the brush forks, so that I can post here and get laughed at, instead of making people jealous! :)

I worked for 34 years, saved as much as possible, had a good retirement plan and now am able to enjoy my toys. :D

XFaxman, what in the world (or universe) is that green thing (GT 19.9 six speed decal). It looks like something Anakin put together for a death to the competition chariot race on a planet far far away.

Good job on being a great steward of your talents, gifts, and blessings - congrats! I really enjoy seeing that machine in action. Just make sure to look out above for falling debris! Is that a massive brush pile in the background? We may need pics once that one lights off... Great looking fence and beautiful land as well. I miss my time in the Norman/OKC area.

It is the Craftsman garden tractor (first photo), without the hood and front wheels.

Ah, a trick photo!

I think you should sent the photo to Disney so they can use it to model a new speed racer.

Thanks.

Not the same pile, but the previous one in the same place:

No, not gas, never use gas!

It is diesel in an old gas can, labeled "Diesel".

Never thought about pouring with the grapple, might have to try that next time. :D

I stick with yellow for diesel so I was confused.

Holy Craaap! I hope that is an optical illusion?

Not really an illusion at all, although I was shooting that picture a touch from the front left view. To verify I walked around to the back to see how that machine was not melting. Should have taken a shot from there too. He was using that grapple to enter quickly and pile/drop the new brush up high. The flames were rolling straight up the front of the cab, but he was in and out quick and then back to the main pile to cool down and pick up a new load. I was incredulous at first and had to check on him when he stopped for fuel. Said he had found it to be the most efficient method and only felt a little heat through the cab window. LOL! I'm all about efficiency, and they were working turnkey, so more power to him, eh?
