Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I've given up on their brass air connectors. Maybe the industrial sized ones work but the auto sized suck. For me, I switched to whatever Lowe's sells and have never had a bad one.

There is no size label on the air connector.

Maybe I should start a new thread, "HF tools that blow"

There is no size label on the air connector.

There are two kinds of air quick connectors. One is the"industrial" and it has the larger hole. The "auto" quick connect is the one most of us use nd has the smaller diameter hole. The two won't interchange.

H.F is ok but to buy something for lifting overhead even jack stands I would have to re weld it before I used it for peace of mind.Other things like sockets are ok to buy.

Uh - I think HF calls the more expensive series with 3/8" bore '1/4 x 3/8 Automotive', while the steel or brass 1/4" (or less) bore style is 'Industrial'. Both series have 1/4" pipe thread. Here's a link, the pictures there show the difference in bore diameter:

Well I was poking around the website and seen few things that caused me to remember what I have purchased from HF in years past considering I have not actually bought anything new from them in almost 10 years now. My mailman probably still hates me for having to lug not just one but two of their horrible 5" multipurpose vices up and down the several flights of stairs to my old in city apartment way back then to deliver and then return them both. Really I feel bad that was lot of BS!

So then I saw the 20pc plastic bins

20 Piece Poly Bins and Rails

I have these bins must have got 3 sets. I think they once sold for maybe for $8.99 (or maybe less) And I made a portable table top rack to mount the bins (and that's worked out quite well over the years)

So they store a huge grade 5 SAE nut and bolt and steel lock washer set 1" thru 3-1/2" inch lengths and 1/4 thru 5/8" diameters that I also believe originally came from HF. They had a Metric kit at the time too. Has been a valuable asset to me over the years being miles away from a hardware or automotive store and long before the days of TSC. Of course it has been added and renewed to since then

I didn't find anything like it on the site though, does anybody remember something like that?

Another vendor at my summer flea mkt gave me free one of these steel wall mount panels. Might need to fill it up! :D

DFB--My mailman was none too happy when I bought their large, cast steel anvil a number of years ago. worse, it arrived in the Spring so he had to lug it through the New England muck to the house. I think it was 70 lbs.

Yesterday I opened a HF 8x10 tarp, one of several I bought on sale 3-4 years ago.

I spread it over a firewood rack that I made 7' 4" wide to fit the labeled, finished size of the tarps. There was about a 6 inch gap. Then I got a tape measure, pulled the tarp tight and measured it. 6' 10" wide. So I measured another one from the same purchase. It was 7' 4" as it should be.
