Give it a go. Start a thread on your build, we can talk you through it.
This one runs on 220V. But I do have 3 phase here on the farm. TerryWow! Does that require and do you have 3 phase?
Thanks for the support.
I came across this welder on Saturday, and couldn't resist.

Yeah, us hobbyist need all the practice we can get.Not too bad for a rookie .... glad to see you sharpening up your skills .
No backing gas, if it was stainless steel I would have purge the tank.Did you use backing gas when you tig welded the tank? What filler rod? Very eye pleasing!
I've fabricated a lot of fuel tanks and radiator overflow tanks that had to pass pressure test. We always put backing gas on them-that is why I asked. Just seemed to reduce the chance of leaks to almost zero. Used 1/16 x 309 filler rod. Just thought I'd pass this on.Yeah, us hobbyist need all the practice we can get.![]()

I used 1/16-inch E80S filler. I welded the outside first, of the bottom, sides, and ends. Then welded the
inside. I just welded the outside of the top. I really lucked out, not one leak!
Mysfyt, at this point I don't know. I can phone Miller Support with the serial number to see if it was installed at the factory. If not I'll have to take a look inside and compare with a parts diagram to see if it was installed later.

Yes. But it is only a one gallon unit. Haven't looked into it in depth but I would think it would be too small for production use ( which I won't be doing anyways). Terry
I built a 20 gal gas caddy 5+ years ago from 1/8" steel. I welded it up, filled it with water making sure there were no voids, pressurized it to 60 psi (yes, 60) and hung it from a hoist to check for leaks. I found a few so I drained it, dried it and re-welded, refilled it with water for another check. Got it this time. No problem with leaks. I did a similar project to make a gas tank for my Ford tractor. Instead of buying an expensive 14 gal tank, I made a 9 gallon one. No leaks there either.
