Rake York brand landscape rake

I just bought a used 8 foot York rake with gauge wheels. The wheels need to be replaced as they were pneumatic and were destroyed. Should I go with a solid wheel or stick to a pneumatic one? Any suggestions as to where to purchase?
Also the wheels can be placed in front of the rake or behind the rake. Does either place have a different intended purpose?

I would go with solid wheels. The cheapest can be had from Harbor Freights store. With gauge wheel in front the rake will follow (copy) the surface. With wheels behind the the rake will produce smoother surface because the wheels will ride on surface already raked.

My Woods has solid wheels. I am replacing the air tires on my RFM with solid ones. Can't think of a reason to have air tires over solid ones for that application.

With an outside diameter of 14" I don't think so. The tires are completely shot, but the bracket looks like it is made for an 8" or possibly 9" outside diameter wheel. Thanks for the replies, I think I'll give Harbor Fright a look.

Good luck with your harbor freight visit. Might want to bring some extra cash. You will always find something that you never new existed and will want it or "need" it

laminated wheels (solid wheels) and last a long while. have seen them on many rotary cutters for rear wheels over the years. they take a beating and keep on going, even missing chunks to rocks and sticks sticking into them, and they keep on turning.
