I'd say not enough real estate to have everything vs enough power. We'll have to wait and see on this one.

I think their down force kit is independent of the top and tilt.

I was not sure what you meant by 'independent of' but just in case, my read of the JD site is you can't have both the Down Pressure option and the Top and Tilt option.

It may be that a 3rd rear SCV would be needed and that is not offered. :confused3:

I think their down force kit is independent of the top and tilt. It bolts to a frame that is biked to the lower side by the draft links and the upper 3 point arms. Yes a switch like on off. I guess not enough hydraulic power to run everything??

Cletus, what did you find out ? What's the decision ? Personally, I thought the downward pressure concept was kind of appealing.

If 450 pounds of down pressure is applied to the Three Point Hitch, you will have 450 pounds less tractor traction.

( Newton's Law: Equal and Opposite Reaction. )

This is why it is important to buy HEAVY ground contact implements; especially box scrapers, angle blades and disc harrows, which skim the surface of the ground. Implement weight/gravity is all the down force which can be applied.

Down pressure would negate the effect of Harry Ferguson's Three Point Hitch, which is to transfer mounted implement weight to the tractor's rear tires through the Lower Links, to improve traction; and to transfer mounted implement weight to the front tires when the Top Link is in compression.

I'm with KennyD: "We'll have to wait and see on this one."

I would venture to say that what JD wants for that down pressure feature is going to cost more than what the additional cost would be to get a better box blade that weighs that additional 450lbs. I might be wrong and it may be a feature that they offer very reasonably priced though. :confused3:
