I finally mounted the top and tilt cylinders that have been sitting in my shop for years and to my dismay the tilt unit drops down after a few hours. I have used the tilt on my old 6040 and never had a drop down but on the latest tractor it does.
So my question is could the drop be a result of something in the remote valve and if so what could it be and is it fixable?

Flip the couplers to see if there is a pressure relief valve in line.

Try this - Raise and lower tilt cylinder several times in case there is air in it. Then set your implement square. And set it on the ground so there is no force on the cylinder. Turn off tractor and operate tilt control to take the pressure out of the lines. Unplug your remote disconnects for the tilt. Start tractor and raise implement. If it stays level your valve is almost certainly the problem.

Many hydraulic valves will give a spec sheet on how much leakage they have. Also valves with built in pilot checks will usually hold better with less leak down.
The easier way would be to plumb a lock valve into the cylinder.
Either a two port;

Or actually you could get by with a single port;

A single plumbed into the cylinder lower port should stop the issue unless the cylinder is bypassing internally.

My OEM Kubota valves on my new L4060 did that when it was new 8 odd years ago. They swapped out a couple valves h found an ok one for the toplink. It only leaks down at an inch an hour. My sidelinks were leaking fully down in an hour. They never did find good ones & finally put in a valve at the back. No more leakdown, but I lost float on the sidelink. That suck, but I can live with it. I couldn't live without float on my toplink though.

I did as you suggested and the cylinder didn’t leak down when disconnected from the valve.
So it’s an issue in the valve?
I also switched top with tilt connections to see how it affects the top.
The way it connects to my implement I don’t think it will be noticeable

Did changing top tilt cylinder to run off the top valve change your tilt leak down? How long did it take to leak down.

My valves leak slowly and I use them on dirt work implements where I am watching the cut and make adjustments as needed. May be adjustments because of terrain changes or leak down makes no difference.
