65 this morning and headed up. Already above forecast high. Temps rose all night. Rain and cold front coming in tonight.

Drew take it easy on that neck. That sounds like a hot tub condition. Just don't play with those Christmas lights in there.

As for beards. Use to only grow one in the winter. But any more I keep one ear around. Just in summer I keep it a lot shorter. Have found it offers protection from the sun. With a hat sunglasses and a beard very little of my face is exposed to the sun for sunburns and tans. Now when I do shave I look like a rainbow though.

Drew, good luck with the neck. As far as beards, I can grow one in a week, easy. I can grow hair anywhere but my head. I look like a gray gorilla in the shower. I have more hair on my azz than I do on my head. TMI?

Drew, pain in the neck eh? Sorry you are living with that. What the heck did you do to your body to get so beat up over the years?

Made it home at 12:30am today. Lost two hours to I-90 East being closed most of the day between Albany and the Mass. line. Tanker truck with a HAZMAT load rolled over. Traffic was detoured onto US Rt 20 through Nassau then south on NY Rt 22 back to I-90. We made it up the driveway in 4x4 low. :cool2: The neighbor had driven in to go deer hunting and I used his tracks getting through the plowed up hump at the entrance. After 17 hours on the road I sure wasn't looking forward to hiking up the drive and getting the tractor out.

Drive is cleaned out now and so is the fridge, so I'm going hunting with my debit card soon.

Drew, sorry to hear about your neck.

As for a beard, they were generally not allowed in the Army, but I would sometimes grow one if on leave for 2 weeks or more. Most of my time I did have a mustache. When I was a Ft Dix company commander 4 of the 5 COs in our battalion had one, mostly because our brigade commander hated them. The joke was the 5th CO would have had one as well if she could have grown one.

Maybe I'll retry the beard this year.

Just woke up after a couple hour nap ... worked all last night in the shop, until around 07:00 ...

Would really like to just go back to sleep ... but too much to do and the weather won't get much better than this anytime soon.

Beard ?

Yeah ... seem to have one of those pretty regularly ... they usually last 7 to 10 days ... until I can't stand it any longer. It's been mostly white for a number of years now.

got my food shopping done and avoided the bakery section, a weakness for me,
yeah those boxes of yummy chewy macadamia and coconut home made cookies that are half palm oil are for the workers. Right.

Then I slowly washed the truck, geez is that thing big. Thank goodness I have boat washing poles left over.
Mostly used my left hand so I was marginally good and then pulled the leaf blower behind the Gravely for an hour or two.
That's it, I quit. Next some chemicals in the hot tub and will let them circulate a while and then may go plunk myself in 103 degree water.
Late in the afternoon the back deck is a toaster from the sun so that's a good time to get in. If I turned the pump down low, turned on one of those white noise generators of the surf, maybe I could land on the beach in Rio.
Hopefully not looking at Irv's azz....:shocked:

Good evening all. 52F and partly cloudy and wind picking up, Front came through about 1PM wind picked up and overcast filled in. Temped dropped from 68F to 44F in about 2 hrs. Got home from church about 1 watched the rest of the Rams and Oakland game, built a fire, and that is about it.
