Now it is understood that
a littler eye opener to start the day is OK.
A mid morning Pick Me upper is fine.
A little something at lunch time is spot on.
An afternoon break with a snort or 2 is well understood.
Naturally at quitting time A few drinks is only natural.
A little something before supper is a good way to help your appetite.
Of course after supper its good to have a nice relaxing drink.
& Nothing beats a Night Cap to help you sleep.

BUT This Damm Sip, Sip all day long Has Got to Stop.

I have a glass of wine every night for it's health benefits! The rest of the bottle is for my witty comebacks and flawless knowledge. :cool2::cool2:

Had the unpleasant experience of my high school sweetheart's daddy who started the day with 2 fingers of Wild Turkey and it never got better from there. I heard he passed away at the age of 59 from a stroke brought on by alcohol abuse (ya think?) . He and his wife both were all day drinkers and masked it with "iced tea" and other assorted "fillers". DARN shame cause when the guy was sober, he was actually a pretty nice fella...... ah well. pick yer poison wisely, I prefer lemonade some days or a Corona on others. ;)

Grandad had a little sign similar to the what I wrote.
He had a lot of friends that would stop by mid morning & often mid afternoon, .
They would tell stories & have 2 or 3 drinks each time.
Never saw him drunk. If he went to town lots of folks would buy him drinks. He started to carry a flask & when had all he wanted, he'd slyly dump the rest of the drinks into the flask.
he started smoking at 14, don't know when he started drinking. But I'm pretty sure that it must have shortened his life.
At 103 years old he broke his hip & died soon after. Without the smoking & drinking who knows how long he would have lived.

Probably not past 85. Great story. Like they say, everything in moderation.

Hey, it's always 5 o'clock somewhere!

Everyone has to have something to believe in. I believe I'll have another!
