I don't think homes get built without a few little nightmares, it just isn't done.

The charming Mrs. QuasarZ (I assume) looks quite pleased with her new driveway and that's what matters. :D

Haha yeah she was happy to get it in. We wanted a picture with someone on it to show how big the driveway was. She was thinking it was going to be a cute little curvy drive through the woods and it ended up being a highway lol. That was another tricky part to our lot but we got the land cheap and knew it would take some money to make it work.

We've spent some money on our "cheap" land too. Except for getting started essentials like driveways and swales, most improvements can be done as you have time and see how things develop. It's a sort of hobby for me. Give the driveway 5-6 years, do a little grading and smoothing here and there, and it will look like it belongs there.

Something about seeing footings on the ground gets me excited. I'm failing at visualizing what your layout is going to be like, so I'm really looking forward to seeing more pics of your progress.

Ahhh. There's nothing like the smell of fresh concrete. :D

I have extra height walls like yours at each end of our house to bring the frost depth back into the berm. 12' IIRC. Nice forms your contractor is using.

Looks like you are planning on some interior masonry walls?

Dare I ask what that ~2' wide L-shaped slot is for? (bottom center of last pic)
