ok, so I got a oil filter that did not fit in the canister, I got a hydrolics filter that would not fit in the canister , by the pump, only could find one air filter, they sold me two, and it looks like there is two fuel filter, they only sold me one?,, where do yall buy filters I went to wc tractors, they didn't really seem to know much, which doesn't do me much good since I know nothing....I did get the cylinders off the bucket, but I did it by taking out the pins and unscrewing the lines...the caps or seal on the cylinder is a circlier, flat washer with three notches, I got one loose couldn't get the other loose, even the one I got loose I couldn't get the cylinder to come out...any help would be appriecated...

I think we still have a 165 sitting at work. I will try and look tomorrow and try to walk you through this.

I cant remember exactly but I think the hyd. filter will go in up through the bottom but dont quote me on that.
Do you not have a spin on type oil filter on the tractor?
On the air filter, I think some models had a inner and outer filter. One should be small enough to fit up inside the other. The smaller one will be tapered at the bottom to fit up in the bottom portion of the air can. It will have its own wing nut to tighten it down. Bigger filter goes on over it.

Fuel filter - does it have the glass bowl on the bottom or is it solid where you cant see through it. some of them I have seen has one with the glass bowl and nothing else. I have seen some with 2 solid metal ones.

Also look up in front of the radiator, there is an oil cooler up front, there should be a canister filter up there as well. You will probably have to take the grill out to get to it or possible the side of the grill. I cant remember off the top of my head how it comes apart.

Did you take your tractors serial # in with you when you bought parts because I know for a fact that there is a early production and later production when it comes to parts on these tractors?

I would suggest finding yourself a service manual or at the very least a owners manual either from your dealer or ebay for your tractor.

well on the air filter, they sold me two, but I took the old one out it was just one big one, does the smaller one fit inside the bigger one? on the hyd filter, I assume it was next to the hyd pump, there was a canister that unscrewed and was full of hyd fluid but no filter, could it the filter been left out? this canister was in the front of the tractor by the radiator on the oil filter, it was a canister, which I believe they sold me the wrong filter.....on fuel filter, I believe there are two...one has a glass bowl underneath. the other is a canister on the other side of the engine block that would be great if you could look at it and let me know...am I wrong or do they have two fuel filters,,thats what it looks like to me...I have ordered a manual and just waiting for it to arrive...my tractor is out in the country...so its hard to get anybody to look out it...thanks for all your help

yes the smaller air filter goes in first it will have a wingnut holding it down
then you install the big one over that one with a different wingnut or what ever holds it down.

The canister up near the radiator is one of the hydraulic filters. Yes there should be a filter in there. You can follow the lines coming off that canister and one of them should go to a smaller looking radiator in front of the bigger coolant radiator.

Also is one of the filter that they sold you about 2 inches or so in diameter and maybe 1 3/4 to 2" thick. If so this could be a steering pump filter.

The glass bowl is going to be your only fuel filter.

The filter that you are seeing on the other side (canister) is probably going to be your oil filter. It will be low on the block just above your oil pan. It should mount directly into the side of you block. Does it have any lines coming off of it going anywhere or is it mounted there by itself?

I will do my best to look tomorrow but my best advice is to wait on your manual before you start taking anything else apart just yet.
