These are some great ideas and builds.

This is very crude compared to most of the nice handiwork in this thread, but it works. Its just a quick and dirty ripper that I made to fit the 4in1 bucket on my small kubota. (I have a backhoe permanently fitted, so attaching anything to the 3PH is not an easy option). This simple attachment puts down a couple of rips about 18 inches apart and 6 inches deep. The purpose is to cut through the 3'' thick 'kikuyu' grass matting that surrounds my shack. I then tear out the grass in between the rips with the skinny bucket on the backhoe. I've used it a number of times to cut out strips of grass so I can to put in long concrete borders or trenches for pipes. (If I just use the backhoe alone the grass comes up in great slabs 3 feet wide.).

Man, I am soooooo jealous of your 4in1 bucket. Several years ago a friend of mine had a JD450 on tracks with 4in1 bucket and backhoe. That's the only one I've been around. Very, very productive and versatile!!! Great idea with the rippers. I've heard your kikuyu sod is brutal to break up. Looks like that would work great!!! Again,,, jealous and envious of your bucket!!!

Posted this in the really awesome/ handy attachments thread also.

Here are the independent forks that I made for picking up brush on uneven terrain.

You just lower the loader, then curl down, the forks will lay flat on the uneven ground, then go forward and pick it up.

If you can get one at a reasonable price you'll never regret it. I really couldn't imagine not having it. I doubt I've ever used the tractor without utilizing the 4in1. Many TBN members seem to prefer the bigger capacity of a grapple but it depends how much brush you have to move. But the 4in1's can be heavy so some rear counter weight is almost essential. Yes the kikuyu is brutal. Its a real struggle to dig through with a spade, and the front bucket barely scratches it. It can really thatch up over time. If I'm just digging a small hole to plant a tree I have to cut through it first with an axe. But its a good easy care grass for around a shack. (Note I changed my previous post from 2' thick to 3" thick. Its not quite that brutal!) )

The two things I liked best about my friend's 4n1 was he could open the bucket, reach over a pile of dirt and backdrag it easily. Or if he wanted to clean up an area he could open it and set down over a small pile of dirt, close it, and pick it all up with only a small amount left on the ground. Also the ability to open the bucket and use it as a dozer.

I agree they are heavy but they make up for it in their useability. I look for one all the time but never seem to find any for sale. But then, think about it.... Would you sell yours??

Simple homemade Handi-Hitch attachment, but nearly everybody has one! Don't worry, the pins were just turned in while I was finishing it up.

Actually I think very few people have one. It's something you'd think is cool but not be used much. It's just the opposite!!! I run a QH on my tractor which gives me even more opportunities to use mine. Just takes a few seconds to set it on the QH and use. A few seconds later and it's removed. Very handy attachment.

I wouldn't be without mine… one of my very first attachments. Makes moving/navigating trailers SO much easier, to the point where I tore a tire off the dump trailer making too tight of a turn! I could have a dedicated tractor just with the hitch on it :)

Yep, I've got a gooseneck ball on the top of mine, then cat IV receiver hitches with 2" ball and open pin hole to gain even more useability. And as I said, with a QH it's very simple to attach, use, unattach and store.

I wonder why nobody has posted a Carry-All. I have seen a lot of them over the years. Most way more fancy than mine.

EDIT: Oops - I see ovrszd posted a very nice one along with his other neat stuff

It doesn't matter if it is fancy as long as it does the job it was intended to do.
P.S. I think ovrszd's carryall is very neat.

I built my carry-all right after returning home from 15 months Deloyed to Iraq. I had a lot of frustration to work out. So I was a bit **** about it.

It survived my shop fire, although the B2910 didn't. Still use it on my JD2210 to haul firewood into the shop. My Wife uses it a LOT in the Spring cleaning up flowerbeds.

Made this blade 4 years ago. front&rear plow.jpg started out as a 100 gal up right LP tank. Went looking for a plow and none to be found, so build one and save the $1000.00. have a total of $120.00 it.
