4shorts--what great photos and what a youthful guy you were. The ladies must have been all over you back then, especially when you offered them a ride in your wheel loader. What a charmer.

Any more photos of the completed tractor?

Ha. I was married back them too so I had to be a good boy lol. They are the only photos of the tractor but back then I had another hobby. I used to restore and modify military Jeeps. M38A1's. When I would get them completed a guy would come down from Nova Scotia and buy them up. Oh they were the days :dance1:

And when did Kubota start making vacuums? That sucks!!!!!

It blows too :

Photobucket keeps dropping my BX photo

And your BX is spotless clean too! I'm embarrassed to show mine close up at the moment.

Oh don't worry. It took some elbow grease to get it that way  I guess that's the last job I'll ask of it for this year. 65 hours on the clock and it's tucked in with the battery tender on it for its long winters nap. Wifey figures it's the best thing we ever bought.

Oh man. CB radio's. Remember talking "Skip" ? We use to exchange skip cards when we'd talk to other CBers from far away. Those where the days. I lived up north back then and we would get the northern lights dancing in the cold winter night sky's and could talk all over the world. My handle back then was "Diesel Weasel"
Oh the memories ;)

I've got a section of the wall dedicated to those cards I collected in the 70's... never took them down.

HAHA the man from "Newfoundland" says when he used to live up "north". Thats a good one Paul but your not exactly living in the tropics.lol

This is the first I recall hearing about the jeeps, guess you didn't keep one for your coca cola room?

Did you ever see the video about the guys who strip and reassemble a jeep in under three minutes?

have a fine Day my friend

Oh yes. It was considered up North. It was in Labrador at the time. It got really coooold. It got down to -40C most of the winter. Going to work felt like you had square tires on the vehicle because they were frozen. Have a look at the map. To put it in perspective I'm living close to St.John's now. Have a look where Labrador is on the map. I'll see if I can dig up some old photo's of the Jeeps I've restored.

Army Crew Tears Apart & Rebuilds Jeep in Four Minutes - YouTube

Hey that's a M38A1 like I used to do. The lads are a we bit faster than I was at it. Heck they could beat me by at least 15 minutes :D

So you have Bay Roberts on your weather bug map. Hey I wonder if I was responsible for putting Bay Roberts on the map

Cool video. Really enjoyed it. Thanks.

yep! At least on my map :D

Well my friend that's good enough for me

Well today my customer brought in the BX 1800 I converted to a nice resurfacer a few years ago. This BX has a little over 3000 hours on it. It had the usual air filter bracket cracked so I did a little mod on it and added an extra brace to it.
It also had a situation where it wouldn't shut off with the key. When I checked that out I found the solonide let go from the bracket on the injection pump. I did a fast repair on it buy machining a small stainless steel shaft to weld on the solonide. Then I silver soldered a washer on the bracket so that everything will fit good and not slip out.

Had to make a wiring repair because the fuel pump was cutting out.

When he's done with it in the spring I'll get it back and do a more permanent repair to it.

Here's a few photos.

Yes the infamous BX air cleaner bracket...

First time I heard the rattle I thought the worst and was relieved to find it was only the bracket had let go...

On a separate note... always thought the hood was a little tinny on my BX... found some aircraft anti-vibe material from about 30 years ago and decided to give it a try... the 3M damping material made a noticeable difference and was as simple as peel and stick...

I doubt Kubota actually made the vacuum. My guess would be that another company is the manufacturer and has made it to Kubota specs and authorized to use their name. There is likely filters that will fit it available from other places than a Kubota dealer. I might not be right in my thinking, and my wife often tries to convince me I am not always right, but sometimes I get a little deaf while she is speaking!

I never saw the vacuums on their web site. Are there other products made by/for Kubota? John Deere seems to be the most seen tractor name in the toy department, but you do occasionally see a few Kubota tractors. Maybe I just haven't found the proper place to shop for these things.

I think it was on messicks site that has all the Kubota branded stuff tools to toys.

I think your talking about dynamat its available from eastwoods.com

Paul, did you build the weight bracket too, looks like that little feller would fall over forward if you unhooked the implement.
