Quick hitch vs pat's hitch

Well I have a Quick hitch and I'm going to buy Pat's Hitch system. My Woods Finish Mower PTO shaft hits the crossbar on the Quick hitch and it's a royal pain on uneven ground. Tears up the shaft and plastic cover. Pat's is my next stop before spring.

Yep, I totally understand. Sometimes a QH just won't work in certain applications. Good thing is you can surely sell your QH to recoup part of the cost of the Pat's.

ovrszd, thanks for comments. It's a good hitch for some things for sure ! You've got me thinking about cutting the top bar and redesigning it to work. Thanks, I'll keep you posted.

I was perhaps a bit negative in my post. I just need to have the box blade modified to take the longer top link.

I use the HF QH and I love it after 40 years of doing it the old fashion way it sure is a welcome change. All, no most of my equipment is older and it needs modified I just do one at a time and as winter comes I will continue, I have to have some reason to be out in the garage. The only problem with the HF hitch is the center top hook isn't long enough and I have to extend it on mine, but for now as long as the top hookup on the implement is wide enough I just need to be lined up right which is good because that makes the two lower links line up perfect. All and all I think the quick hitch is the better route, that is as long as you have QH compatible implements, or can modify what you have, and if you have a hydraulic top link. Without the hydraulic top link and the ease of adjustment to extend or retract the center link to be parallel with the lower links (to match the specific implement) pats would probably be better. I had my QH for a year before I started using it because I didn't have the top link, and being old it just didn't make any sense that anything could ever be that easy.........well I was wrong! :confused3: I find myself going out and moving the equipment without any reason just because it is easy, yea I know that is pretty sad!

Maybe HF will start to offer them. We could all afford them then!:laughing:

That delta hook is pretty slick but way to expensive. And they only give you 2 plates for that price.

I had my QH for a year before I started using it because I didn't have the top link, and being old it just didn't make any sense that anything could ever be that easy.........well I was wrong! :confused3: I find myself going out and moving the equipment without any reason just because it is easy, yea I know that is pretty sad!

I normally have a reason to move my equipment, but I certainly don't mind doing it anymore. With TnT and a QH I can move half a dozen attachments in less time than hooking to one without those additions.

For me the most common reason for moving equipment and other stuff is mowing. I would rather move stuff then mow around it.

Agreed, but an $80 HF hitch now is better than a $350 hitch in a couple of years. Buy the HF hitch, save your money for a higher grade one, then adapt the HF hitch to your bucket or loader for even more fun.

I keep asking, and no one can provide any documentation of any damage to any tractor, implement, or even any evidence of failure of a HF QH in use, so they are obvious.y serviceable in use. A one time modification so that the implement fits the QH is a very small price to pay for the convenience on never having to adjust your lower arms ever again.

I couldn't believe my eyes. My cousin went out and bought a new (to him) CNH 250 HP tractor and it had a quick hitch on it! That thing was huge! I don't think it would fit my little Montana!
