BTW, if you don't have any of the 20% off coupons handy, you can always Google "Harbor Freight Digital Savings" and print one from the website.

Thomas
Or if you want to save money there is usually a 25% off coupon available, don't settle for 20% unless you have to :).
For us older people who get AARP they usually have a clippable coupon in there.

Does HF offer a Class 2 Quick Hitch?

Thanks

Are you using the HF hitch on the big Kubota or the little Deere? I'm trying to figure out if one would hold up on my MF which is between your tractors in size.

I originally used the CAT I hitch on a Kubota B2910. Then used it on a Kubota L4400, that's when I bent it. My M9540 is CAT II.

I personally find having telescoping lower links makes connecting such a breeze, anything else is a waste of money unless all you deal with are non-PTO implements. If you need to get off the tractor to connect the PTO anyway, the typical quick hitch is just more to work around and get in the way. Telescoping lower links for me any day!

I plan to shoot a video hooking/unhooking my brush cutter with a QH. When the weather cools off I'll get that done. I'll also shoot a video hooking/unhooking my Brothers L3240 to a brush cutter using the factory arms. You'll be totally shocked at the difference. I'll start a new thread when I get em done. :)

There's hitching quickly/easily and there's being able to muscle a heavy implement into position at all the 'old way'. IMO, telescoping links are as good as a QH any day to ease hooking up, but not all CUTs and SCUTs have that option.

Even the best QHs can have their limitations: fixed top hook, implement not ASAE such as subsoilers or some angle blades. A free lunch can be fleeting, and to me Pat's looks better all the time for o'all utility & bang for the buck.

btw: There's a lot to be said about not having to leave the seat for a whole day, and I'm looking for a self-greasing tractor with auto-PTO hookup that checks its own fluid levels and tire pressures. :D

With pats you will need a longer toplink.

I have 2 quick hitches with adjustable tophooks. I have yet to see where that is a advantage.

Use a quick hitch one time and you will have a different mindset.

After hearing this I am glad I went with the imatch for the l4240. You are lucky that it did not break something on the tractor or implement when the QH broke.

I have 2 quick hitches with adjustable tophooks. I have yet to see where that is a advantage.

My implements have a 4 inch range of heights of top pin over bottom pins. I had to rivet the HF hook in place so it would reach deep enough to get the top pin on two implements, then use an adapter for the high and low implements. Even then, using the adapter was easier than rebuilding implement hitches. I don't mind getting off and on the BX--only 1 small step down. :)

Since then I found on CL a bargain Land Pride quick hitch. The top hook sticks out about an inch farther so it can both reach the deep pins and adjust height for the high and low ones. I could have made a different hook or welded a spacer on the HF hook, but I couldn't pass up the LP hitch for the price of a HF.

I didn't need a longer top link with my 790. I did need a PTO Adapter (extender, actually) for my chipper PTO drive shaft but that may have been due to the way the previous owner (of the chipper) cut the drive shaft tubes.

I assume you mean Cat II. Yes, HF has one.

Thanks Allen, I was having a Sr. moment when I typed Class 2 instead of CAT 2. Just checked the HF site and can only find the CAT 1 QH? Found CAT 2 at Tractor Supply, Northern Tool and Everything Attachments.

The HF category 2 hitch seems to show up on their web site and stores only a couple of times a year. Check your local stores. I can't find a number for it yet.

And it should be mentioned they are easy to get and cost about $20. Pto Adapter

I'll add my two cents. I have a County Line Fast Change (CountyLine® Fast Change Hitch System, Pack of 2 - Tractor Supply Online Store) which I bought about a month after I got my first tractor. An advantage to this one is that it is Cat II, but with the bushings will work on Cat I. You may ask what the advantage is - I have other family members that farm and have Cat II implements so if I have to borrow something I can hitch up to it.
Every implement I have is Cat I so I have bushings pre-installed on everything. Yes, you have to get off the tractor to hitch up the top link, but with some implements, like a breaking plow, I need to adjust the top link anyway to make sure it hits the ground at the correct angle.

Yep, should have mentioned that...
BTW, the linked item is what is necessary. Tractor Supply didn't carry them the last time I checked out their website. They (TSC) does carry a "PTO Extender, but it does not have the push button lock.

Do you own one?

I have a HF Cat 1 but have seen the Cat 2 hitches on line and in stores.

When you call a store, just ask for an inventory check for item 98487. They don't even have to know what it is to check the number on their computer. That saves a lot of explaining. :)

Let me rephrase this, with the Pats that slides over the lift arms you should get a longer toplink. Pats probably extends your lift arms 4'' so your toplink will not have the proper range.

If you get the Pats that welds on and weld it in the same place your lifat arm balls were you will not need a longer toplink.

If you get the Pats that goes in place of your telescopic lift arm you will not need a longer toplink.

Again, my 790's top link still had plenty of adjustment. However, top links do come in different lengths so what worked for me may not work for others.

I have Speeco Quick Hitches on both of my tractors with one in use for 10 years now. I have modified the handles to point to the front of the tractor so I can just turnaround in the seat and open or close the latches. In cases where I don't have a PTO shaft I can attach or drop an implement with out getting off the tractor.
