Thanks, once again, 4shorts, for ALL of the info that you share!
Paul - I don't know what you have for a generator connection - pony panel / sub panel / backfeed (illegal here) etc - but my Hydro company allows the use of a product called "Generlink", which is an adaptor that goes onto the meter that accepts a special plug from a portable generator. It is essentially a transfer switch right at the meter that allows the use of any circuit in your home, recognizing the wattage limit is about 7K from the gennie. Since I put it in 2 years ago, my gennie has run a grand total of 4 hours on it, lol!!
I'm very interested in seeing the box you make for your unit...thanks for sharing your work with everyone.
I have the same exact Honda generator. I bought it a 1.5 years ago after we lost power for an entire week. Ironically, I haven't lost power since!
Also, the wireless remote works really great - the only trouble I ran into was installing it. While it's easy to install, Honda had incorrectly packaged the wrong instructions with ALL of their initial kits so it left me scratching my head for a bit trying to figure it out. Took a call to tech support to finally get a hold of the correct directions, otherwise, it was simple to install. (They even sent me a Honda hat in the mail reporting this issue to them!)
Very interested to see what you come up with for a shelter. I looked at doing something a while back, but never followed through with it.
Finally, I ended up going with the L4760 - just waiting on everything to arrive at the dealer and get setup. Should be a fun first project using it to install the ShelterLogic.
Thanks, once again, 4shorts, for ALL of the info that you share!
Those decals with the clear coat are really cool! Nice work!
4hshorts... I am looking forward to your enclosure. I want to do the same for my Honda 3K... I have it on a mechanical interlock at the main service panel. I assume you will make it more or less standalone or as an appendage to the house? Also curious as to how it will be ventilated but secure? :confused3:
I wish I had one of your wife's decals for one of my rigs! Maybe one summer, I'll get to travel again, and see some of y'all's work, firsthand!
what did the remote start run??can it be pick up online? thanks im also looking foward to seeing the venting
Great little lights on your gen.Looking forward to your next build!

Yesterday was the perfect day to get a few tractor chores done. Wifey and I decided that we would not do anything else with the property for the rest of this year because we just have to many projects to right now. As some will know, the 5740 is used exclusively for snow clearing but this summer we got to use it in conjunction with the BX25D so It really needed to be serviced and cleaned up which I did in great detail including any paint that needed to be looked at.
I also did the BX as well. It's now in it's stable and the only time I'll see it is to fetch it to fit the newest mods to it. The 5740 has it's snow blade back on and it's cleaner than new and in it's stable as well. The next time I place my butt in it there will be snow on the ground.
So these are a few photo's of the day. I did end up mowing the grass in the dark lol but I got it all done. :cool2:

What a beautiful day! I figure I have about until Halloween to continue outdoor projects. Just gets way to wet after that. Problem is the number of available days are much less due to my heavy business travel in the next two months. Looking forward to your generator mod... Hope to be right behind you on that one!
Looks good 4Shorts. Feels good to have clean and serviced machines. I have to do my 700 hour service on the 3830. Not looking forward to it. I believe it's time for hydro fluid change. Blah!
What brand led lights are those on your backhoe? I'm planning to add some to my zero turn when I get it. I'm usually mowing into the night as well! Lol
Love those decals and the tractor pixs - thanks for sharing.
