How Do You Fill Your Diesel Tank

I doubt it, we have never had Draft horses. But it is possible since I have been to a lot of farm auctions.

They came out of the "small chain" drawer in my storage room.

There's little telling what you'll find at a farm sale.

I bought one of these after hearing all of the 'GREAT' reviews. Personally, I was a little disappointed, still have to push down spring loaded plunger. This is now my back up can.

My favorite is the standard yellow can with nozzle parts removed, and valve stem added to back.

Those are the same containers I like too. Our hardware store carries them. For years I filled them in town and then stood on the front tire balancing the fuel can on the hood while pouring it into the tank. Not a bad system, but there are better.
One day I got smart and bought a skinny little 12v submersible pump that is small enough diameter to slip into the opening of the fuel container. Now I no longer lift that can of fuel. Just sit it on the ground, hook the clamps to the battery, and the pump fills the tank jiffy quick.
When I'm done, the pump and hoses go back into a dedicated clean 5 gallon bucket with a lid.
No mess and no strain. The pump is a Rule brand; Amazon sells them. Check that the diameter fits through the opening in the plastic container.

I got tired of holding down the spring loaded plunger, drilled a hole in the plastic guards today, now I depress the plunger then slip a screw driver through the holes to hold the button down, effortless filling. :thumbsup:

I use a home-made siphon setup with an outboard primer bulb to get it started. Sit the can on the hood on a blanket, squeeze the bulb a few times, open a valve and wait for it to empty the can. Takes about 3 minutes for 5 gallons.

I had a home made setup with 15 gallon container, Tuthill 12 volt pump, filter and service station type hose & nozzle when I had a Kubota B3030 with a 7 gallon tank. Now that I've got a Bobcat skid steer with 24 gallon tank, I just drive it to the corner convenience store and fill it a couple of times per year.
Sold the old pump setup as it had become excess baggage in the barn.

If only the paint didn't rub right off no towel would be needed :irked: Kubota should get smart and put some of that clear protective film in some areas, my FEL hoses have already rubbed through the paint on the side.

My hood is so faded in only 3 years it is a joke. I realize at some point I'll be repainting it anyways.

Your idea is very smart. Why don't you just get some of your own clear protective stick on stuff and put it on?

I looked at John Deere but they seemed like a pile of junk.
