It's funny that you mention core. By that, I'm guessing you mean the part with seeds. Last night at our favorite Mexican restaurant, I ordered a side dish of pico de gallo. When it was served, I examined it for tomato and pepper seeds; not a single one.:D It was very good and made me want to rush down to my garden to get some cilantro leaves off my little plants. I'll resist and let them grow some more, but I sure do want to be making my own pico as soon as my tomatoes start to ripen. Since I got snookered into growing jalapenos, I'll have plenty of those to add to the pico too. I can tell that the pepper roaster I got for Christmas last year is gonna come in handy.

Nope. Talking about the thick core, that would be sort of an extension of the stem. I've seen some large tomatoes that were mostly core, and not worth having. I grew a few of those larger varieties a couple of years ago. I don't mind the liquid and seeds, but don't like the tough, (usually green) core.

But yes, on the pepper roaster! You will love it! And I like the jalapenos, seeds and all! :licking:

What are you gonna do with water anyhow? You'd just water your mesquite trees and prickly pear cactus. With your deep sand, it will all just soak in and disappear. I guess if it rains hard enough, you might drown some of your snakes.;)

Talking about all this food makes me hungry,:licking:, that because the Dr. got me on a 1500 calories diet,, said I need to get down to 200 pounds,, that not easy for a man that should be 7 foot tall according to his weight,, after the beer, wine and scotch that don’t leave a lot of room for food.. Once I get down to my fighting weight I may just beat him up for putting me thru all of this.. anyway my garden is coming along nicely.. here is a picture of my corn plant,, thinning ?.. I don’t need no sinking thinning.. Lou

Corn looks good, Lou!

Yes, I've been on that "drinking girl's diet" before too! Not an easy thing to do, but one does survive! A 6 pack of Miller Lite is only 576 calories, and that leaves 924 for food or other! :D

Farmgirl that not just corn that a wind break.. I was going to get around to thinning it but just got side tracked.. He got me on a low carb less than 50 aday.. I been on it now for 9 days lost 11 pounds.. scotch has no carbs,, and only 97 calories pre one and half oz.. life is good if the scotch is carb free..:) Lou

Drink a lot of beer and eat a lot of beans. The beans fill you up and don't have too many calories. A side benefit is that with all the
'natural' gas, nobody will come around to steal your cold beer.:D

Lou, your corn looks great. I have some pictures of corn like that before the raccoons got to it and after pictures too, but I can't bring myself to look at them and get depressed on such a beautiful Sunday.;)

Blue River, I though you where in S.E. Oklahoma? as in, near or SE of Antlers?

FG19 Good thing you DID go mow last night/evening:thumbsup: The grass hoppers will love the fresh new growth!:D

Bird, that recipe looks so easy, "even a caveman could do it":laughing!:

I am in SE Oklahoma ... Antlers is 30 miles east of me ... I'm just East Of Caney ... straight up 69/75 ... 35 miles into Oklahoma

The Atkin's Diet is good too, if the Scotch is carb free. You can eat all of the meat that you want! Just excludes chocolate though, and that can make it hard! :) Hang in there Lou! You can do it!

Me 2, Copperheads 0.

Neighbor came a knocking at 8:30 this morning all freaked out. She was reading outside when she saw a snake under her chaise. She took two shots with her 410 and missed both times. My and my shovel got the first, then found and dispatched the second which was a few feet away.

Then the rains came.

What's obvious to me is you stopped as soon as you realized you were stuck. You could have buried it a lot worse. Glad you got it out.:)

Hey, Lou, can I borrow your Jeep? I'll bring it back washed.

Blueriver: Hooray for an unstuck JD! Those pics look like you were trying to get it stuck, BTW. :D

sseelhoff: Good job! I let most snakes live, but not Copperheads or Rattlers. I wonder how someone missed with a .410 from close range, but using a hoe is cheaper than ammo anyway!

Who made the outdoors a SAUNA? One more thing I don't have to pay to do is sweat! Been out shoveling under a gate, where dirt washed with the rains. Unless we can get another cold front, I think summer is here. My garden is happy though.
