Kubotas: L3240GST B2320HST B5100D & G5200H
Interested in getting a top & tilt outfit for our L3240, but I want to install 3 remotes, first.
Went looking on some Kubota dealer parts pages and can't find anything listed.
I'm looking for the following P/Ns:
L8305 Base Kit
L8303 1st Valve
L8306 2nd pos stacking
L8303 2nd Valve
L8307 3rd pos stacking
L8303 3rd Valve
Are these the right numbers - am I missing a prefix or something?
Any advice on how to find this stuff?
Float or non-float?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

If Kubota is similar to other tractor manufacturers you can get attachments such as rear remotes cheaper through complete(whole) goods dept than parts dept. For your application one st of controls with float would be enough but float wouldn't be required on all three sets.

Here are the part numbers and price I paid for my 2 valves. Neither are detant, both center closed, non-float. Philip.

So how do you place an order through Whole Goods vs parts?

See the salesman at the dealership to order thru Whole Goods.Pricy proposition but well well worth it.Good Luck!

I also think you should check through about getting it whole goods. It even comes with instructions. You should get 2 with float.

Yes, they are wholegoods items that must be ordered through the dealer sales department. The kits do come with very good installiation instructions. I have personally installed a number of these and it is a lot easier if you pull both the right rear tire and fender. It will take a couple of hours, but a very neat setup when done.

BG, if you do order the the remotes please post the part numbers and the retail price if you don't mind. I've never had a need for rear remotes but still think about getting a set.

Okay - I'll call the dealership and get a quote for a three valve setup with 2 floaters. What I really want is to be able to run the rear blade with TNT and a blade rotating mechanism that I plan to knock together. But I'm sure that just having them available will open up some other possibilities. I'll post a full report - thanks for all the advice!

Get 2 of them with the float function, you won't be sorry. ;)

Please explain to this old farmer the need for all three(3) valves to have the float capability at the added expense of $128? In all my tractor experience I've found very few tasks that required a float position on a control valve. Back dragging with a frt end loader bucket for smoothing is one task, operating a disc hay cutter & correct orbit motor operation is another. Thanks as I'm seeking to gain knowledge,Jim

Well, to start with I normally recommend having the controls for the top and tilt cylinders to have the float function as reflected in the quote ""Get 2 of them with the float function, you won't be sorry. "" So I'm a bit confused :confused3: when you ask me about 3 rear remotes having float. Did you need me to explain why to have the "TnT" valves with the float function?

Yes. And more uses you find as you go and are glad you got the capability up front. ... It surely depends on the extent of variety in the things you do. However these tend to increase for many. - for instance a hyd lifted trailing item like a haybine will lower much more quickly in float vs power down. ... More than 2 would probably never be essential to take the advantage, but being able to plug into any set at random presents its own time and effort advantage.

Different needs for different people, I am about to send out a 4 valve unit, ALL have the float function. ;)

I was actually thinking that using the float on the tilt cylinder while brush hogging might make for a smoother cut, by allowing the deck to follow the ground contours a little more closely. I had been thinking about disconnecting one of the lifting links and replacing it with a chain running through a section of pipe, but having the float would make for a much faster hitch and avoid having to have all that claptrap handy. Plus with the float it's instantly convertible to no float, if needed.

Curious to try both the lift and tilt in float with the rear blade while contour scraping. I use the FEL float a lot, both for back dragging and for snow removal going forward, so I can see how it might be a sweet setup and how I might kick myself for not spending the additional $60 for that second float function when I'm looking at such a big piece of change to begin with. I'm still sore with myself for not getting the remotes when I bought the tractor.

Please forgive me for misquoting you. I do not see the advantage of float on top and tilt cylinders so may I ask for you to explain the need? Keep in mind my many years of tractor experience is in the agriculture field not industrial or landscaping so this may explain my lack of understanding.
Thank you,Jim

I can see where float on the center link would be beneficial for mowing. I don't even attach center link on my mower because of using a quich hitch and never modified top link of QH to attach to top of mower. I fail to see how float on a lift link would be beneficial while mowing. The skid shoe on that side would be dragging all the time while in float or were you referring to utilize the float just for ease of attaching implement to draft link?

The 1st valve cannot have float. You can only have a max of 2 float. I use float with my rear blade for moving snow, the landscape rake, and sometimes the pallet mover.

Tx Jim, the float function is used by many for mowing purposes and is why I recommend it for use with the top link. The swivel pivot that comes on many rear mowers is simply not enough movement for mowing banks, up or down. When the float function is used with the side link, this is where I use it for finish grading at intersections where the camber changes and you want the implement to follow the contour of the road, not the tractor as it goes around a corner. Others use it for raking rough ground and just want to clean up the surface, not change how the terrain is. Others have used a hydraulic side link for AG use on hill sides where one row is at a different angle than another.

Many other uses, those are just a few. ;)
