Diamodpilot is correct, They've all had prototype small diesels and they all have failed to make it to production. You read all about them in the magazines and online but we'll probably never get to see one.

Now most 1/2 tons are getting high teens or 20mpg, a diesel would not be worth the extra mpg for a couple of mpg.

Add to that... diesel is now higher than gas and the diesel option costs more too. :thumbdown:

Both are hovering around $6 per gallon up here, which ever gives the most mpg wins in my book. Not having a diesel 1500 will hurt them in the long run. If nissan ever sold the Aussie diesel patrol over here, that would be my daily driver.

Honestly though, I just swipe my card, insert the nozzle and bend over.

I buy gas and assume the same position...The gas guy always tells me so and so is selling for 10c cheaper...I just stuff the nozzle and be done with it...:drink:

I have ONLY purchased HINO'S for my business and they are bulletproof. Biggest Mistake I ever listened to was an ACCOUNTANT. I asked her in 1995 if I should LEASE OR BUY my Hino. she said LEASE, why would you want the truck after 4 years. Well that was now almost 20 years now and I've never put a nickle in the truck besides, wipers, brakes, oil etc. I ended up buying from the lease company for a premium.

Then I bough two more with equal results. Currently buying the New Hino Hybrid. Obama is giving me 25K in rebates to buy the Hybrid, so it's an offer I can't refuse.

A few years ago they did a prototype 1 ton. Never went to market. I know a lot of behind the scenes stuff from the mechanic and he says if he has design issues he tells HINO and the next model they implement them if they sound reasonable.

Agreed, quite a bit of literary license in the advert "blurb"........................."designed as a replacement for the Hummer H1 and the Unimog U300 clients" ? IMO ,not even a poor imitation & the designers have failed if this was their objective....Yes LOL:laughing::laughing::laughing:

For starters the H1 has portal axles to aid overall clearance , articulation is superior & in my experience will climb over vertical walls if the front wheels drop over the wall before the back axles reach the wall...& just a might easier to train any driver to realise the H1's potential capabilities...

And comparative to a Unimog ? Portal Axles, 4 Wheel disc barkes, min 8speed Forward & Reverse (up to c.70kph) High/Low range + crawler gears, air brakes with on board air supply to run air tools, Air engaged on the fly indidvidually selctable front, rear & centre diff locks, 2WD/4WD, coil springs, hyd remotes....and that's just a basic Unimog spec..

Sure the Ford's a big truck but enhanced for serious off road/expedition type use ? Try it & they'll need something like my U1250 (below) or U1700 to recover the rig

Buy what you want but you atr missing out on yhe best 1/2 ton truck. This motor is direct injected.

I will not support GM.
