I want to get a ss quick attach for my kubota l4240. The tractor is 44hp and weights close to 7000lbs. I think I want to got a a 7' or a 7'6'' blade. I have looked online at every brand i can think of, HLA, Meyer, Curtis, bobcat, edge, ebay plows, virnig, landpride and probably more that I can't think of. I kind of have it narrowed down to 3 but I am still open. I like the bobcat blade it is a 7', weighs 620lbs and is 28'' high. If it is good enough for a skid steer it should be good enough for my tractor right? The second was a edge blade. It is also designed for skid steers. It 7' and weighs 750lbs. Its is 30'' high. My third option is to find a 7' or 7'6'' blade of a truck and adapt it to my loader, but nothing seems to be popping up right now. I also like the hla blades but the dealer wanted 3200 for a 7ft 2000 series. He tried telling me a 1000 series would be enough for "that kubota." If I can't find a blade to adapt to the loader which blade would I be best off with?

i purchased a Quickattach brand 84" blade last year, and used it last winter. worked GREAT. It ran about $3,000 with right and left side wing kits. This side wing swings into place to make the blade a snow push, or to prevent snow from sneaking around the upper edge while pushing while the blade was angled.

had hardened shoes also.

Not sure of current pricing. USA made and weighs in At approx 635# free shipping also

I have a Kioti dk45...weighs close to yours and 45 HP. Had to chain up all 4 wheels to prevent front end side skidding while blade was set at full deflection.

How much snow where you pushing when it was pushing the tractor sideways? Does the quick attach blade have a crossover relief valve? How is the wing kit attached?

I looked online at the curtis blade but I don't know of any local dealers. Does your tractor get pushed sideways when you angle the blade?

My Curtis blade is a converted truck blade, saved a bunch of money.Just happened to be a Curtis.A truck plow from any manufactor can be used. Most expensive part was the third function for the Fel($850)at the time..I have loaded rear ag's and have pushed three feet of dry snow and 2ft.of heavy wet with no sideways when angled. With everything I am about 7000lbs.

I have an 8ft Western truck plow I converted to SSQA. With my 5240 (loaded R4 rears with chains) I have pushed 1-2 feet of wet snow with an angled plow and no side movement. If you push into a big pile the front end can slide some. The 8 ft plow is a tight fit in the garage, Jim

no crossover relief valve

i plow whenever there is at least 8" of snow on the ground. I noticed the side pushing whenever i set the plow to full side angle...which i need to move snow.

After i installef front and rear chains...no more side movement

The side gates simply swing and lock in place..about 10 seconds.

Do you have front or rear chains?

Cool Blade. Do you need both front and rear chains to keep it straight?

I have used the plow with and without the 2 link rear chains. With is definitely better for forward traction. No front chains. Jim

I plow commercial lots with my tractor and I had an ingersol (bobcat) 84" plow.I sold it and bought a push box.I would never buy a skid steer plow again unless it had at least 5 degrees of oscillation built into it.If it doesnt have it when you angle it the plow is no longer level with the pavement and you leave material behind that you have to go over again. There are several company's making ss plows with oscillation designed into them.

I definitely want one that oscillates.

im confused what you mean by oscillation. When i shif my plow either right or left, there is no rist in elevation on either end. I have checked it while the plow is on a concrete slab.

The plow will "float" side to side so it will set level when you angle it or follow the ground contours.

There should be enough slop in the pivot axis to allow some of that naturally...

Most don't have enough slop to make it work properly, thats why snow wolf, boss, hiniker, Kage and many more all design oscillation into their plows. It's a very useful, time saving feature.

If I went with a v-blade how many hose would it take to operate it?

Here is the plow I got. It is a 84" edge. With both blades on the tractor it is over 20' long. It is new I
did not realize I splashed mud on it when I hosed it off.

Hey no fair! You bought that! :) Couldn't find an old plow to fix up? I know you said you were having no luck there. Buying new is nice, especially if you are the kind of person who keeps everything in good repair and condition. It will last you forever that way. Looks nice! Pretty compact unit.
