We finally got some snow! I got to try out my new set up with the soft cab & homemade cab heater, etc. Man it is so SWEEET!! :D
I can see some things I need to tweek but it was 24 degrees out & it was around 60 degrees I'd say in the cab.

Yup!

I plowed with my JD 4600, which is new to me this year. What a step up from my old Cub Cadet!

Today was only the 3rd time I've plowed with my new toy. I find that I am improving my technique. This was the first time I got to plow on frozen ground. I wasn't digging in. It was also the first time after I installed my work lights. That makes a tremendous difference at night.:)

With the blowing and drifting, it was hard to tell, but I think we got about 5 inches here in my section of Readfield.

Yup,
Just got in from plowing here. It is about 24 degrees here too. Inside the cab was nice and warm. We had about 6-8" and another 3-5" coming tonight.

Bill, How did you make out with your exhaust fumes getting in the cab? Did you get it fixed / find the cause?

I don't have anyone here to film me moving snow. Can't film and plow at the same time. Need to steer with one hand and work the loader with the other.

Yesterday they predicted 7 straight days of snow for us starting Sunday...but now the forecasts have raising afternoon temps... so we may get 7 days of ice and rain????

na... we have no ice or frozen ground at all...and it looks like by thursday we'll be back in the 40's again... so the chains stay off for the time being.

I took them off cause there kinda tearing up the loose ground while working in the horse stalls. I really hope i wont have to re-install them, doesnt look like it.

Usualy we have ice on ground for 2-3 months...not this year.

Roy, yo get any snow up your way yet??

So far, just that 5-8 inches on 30 Oct last year...some flurries and we have light snow on the grassy areas now.
Although we should have seen more snow by now, and I am disappointed that we haven't, it's not unusual to get substantial snows later in the season.
So, the Deere is chained (rear tires only) and the warning light is setting on a shelf...anxiously awaiting the call to duty!

yuuup. I also fear we will have a high fire danger summer if we dont get some snow pack here in PNW.

And need cold freeze to help control the pine beetle problems.

... and they said in the newspaper in Spokane that it may miss us completely to the south.

yup.... i really never trust those talking heads anyways..

For months they have been telling everybody about the colder than normal and wetter than normal season..... and its in the high 30's ... sometimes in the 50's and dry.

GRS- The NOAA website still shows snow in my neck of the woods thru Tuesday at least with highs in the 20's. Do you rely on the Spokane stations for your weather reports? I have found NOAA to be pretty accurate, I like their website since you can mark your location on the map and it takes elevation into account.

P.S. I have been able to keep my chains on.....

i also use weather underground..... and they've started to up their high temp predictions also. I was hoping to get some much needed winter fun money from snowplowing this season.... darn it all

whetherunderground shows Wed as the best chance (90%) ..but 39F so it would be as rain.crap

I like the NOAA predictions better..... i hope there correct.

I havn't even made enough snow plow money to pay for 1-1/2 of my 4 tire chains.

Not much here, only 2" to 3" then it turned to rain

Well the weather man was wrong again. Got 6-8 yesterday and about 10" last night.

It has been all season in South Western Ontario with NO SNOW we got about 1/2" yesterday and so I scraped a little with the 3720 talk about pathedic just to try the new toy. Thank god for salt contracts and the few that pay with or without snow..this year has been strange. Hoping for at least 4 or 5 inches soon would be nice to make some extra gravy and really try the tractor

Our great weathermen goofed it again. For 2 days theve been warning us of heavy snow showers and to be prepared for up to 12" of snow on Sunday and Sunday evening....... we had clear sky's and about 37F.

It must be nice to be able to be wrong nearly 100% of the time and still keep your jobs.

Yeah...I gotta get a job like that...I'm about 50% qualified (which means I'm wrong half the time), but I'm working on it...
