Here are the pics of my snow plow. I also turned my rear loaded tires and gained 3 inches more width. Now if i need chains i have no problem with clearence, BOY THOSE LITTLE TIRES WHERE HEAVY. It was almost too much for one person.

Nice set up. I like how you have tucked the frame under and behind to keep the plow closer.

I like the closeness to the loader arms as well. It does look like you will have to be careful and not roll it all the way forward or some issues could arise, I could be wrong of course. There is no real reason TO roll it forward however.

were your rear tires fluid filled??? there have been many people injured changing filled tires over the years.

Nice Job! Looks like your ready for winter.

Those turf tires aren't going to push much snow. Suggest you order tire chains now. When snow season starts it may takes several weeks to get them.

Hi magic, i can roll the blade fully both ways with no problem, lots of room. Yes GR the rears were loaded. Im glad the tires didn't go down as i don't think i would have been able to stand them up.

Nice job. I'm working on a similar build. I rebuilt everying from scratch except the blade. More time than it look like.

I have R4 tire myself but most people that have turf tire swear by them for winter plowing. I believe the idea is that the snow that gets in all the groves grips the snow on the ground better. Much like winter tires on a car have a bunch of small grooves.

Yep....I too have been told that most folks like their turf tires in snow.....and that turfs are somewhat better than R4's on snow. It's on ice where they have a problem....but then all tires have problems on ice.

I have both R4 and turf tires for my TC40D. On my 300 ft. stone drive, I can push more snow with the turf tires in 2 wheel drive than I can in 4 wheel drive with the R4s. Neither set are loaded. The R4s do great as long as the blade is straight. If it is angled, the R4s get pushed sideways where as the turfs are more stable and track straighter.

One reason to roll the blade forward is to use the blade and FEL to lift and push the tractors front wheels out of the ditch after driving in too far. Learned this the old fashion way.

Nice looking setup, can't wait for snow.

Do you have a picture of the back of the QA plate (i.e. blade off the tractor)? I really like your design. Not sure my welding skills are up to the task, but might be able to have someone weld it for me. More details greatly appreciated.

That is true, I've used that trick myself.

I never ceases to amaze me how many clever ways people come up with to mount snow plows to tractors. Great setup:thumbsup: It's also funny how having a nice snow removal setup makes us actually look forward to the winter weather.

I have also had the same problem with R4's. If the blade is angled, the front end gets pushed around. With the blade straight, I can push snow anywhere. I have considered putting chains on the front to stop this, but I figured this little annoyance keeps me from getting too carried away and prevents me from breaking my loader arms since the tractor is likely to get pushed to the side instead of digging in with force and breaking something.

Great looking build, there have been a few of these well thought out loader snow plow set up threads lately.

But don't any of the manufactures offer a frame mount option? I have not seen any in a long time. I'm not a big fan of loader mounted plows in general, so I made a frame mount.

Took a Myers truck plow under carriage and bolted it to my frame, just took a couple of plates welded to the old undercarriage front piece, and used existing holes in my frame. It's compact, super heavy duty, and stays on with no clearance issues for FEL install.

It's so quick buzzing around with the frame mounted plow, no worries about loader arm damage when hammering snow piles. Everything is a trade off off course, I can't raise the blade more than 18 inches off the ground, so I have to start with the banks pushed back as far as possible on the first few storms.
Last year I had to remount the loader to move record snow fall piles back.

I guess no one wants to remove their loaders, since they are so useful for so many other tasks. But if we are just talking about plowing snow IMO the frame mount is very efficient.

That is the reason why lots of people want either bucket mount/ or FEL mount with SSQA. It gives you the opportunity to move deeper snow without dropping the plow and putting the bucket back on.

BXPanded makes a nice bucket mounted snowplow, that attaches in seconds. It will fit most buckets on most any tractor.

I had a factory sub-frame snow-plow set up on a L3130 Kubota.Worked very good but the FEL had to be removed.Limited on the height of the blade.
New tractor;L4240 built a FEL mounted snow-blade,like this a lot better, the plow can be removed in minutes to access the bucket. Also I can pile snow a lot higher.
